It is available in the full game and will be soon patched in the demo version as well!
No, I thank you for your effort! If other Front Mission remakes happen to be released on PC, I hope they will be at least as good as this one. :)
Guess it was a blessing in disguise that I got inundated with other Switch games last year which pushed this back.. Kind of expected this to be announced at the PC gaming show or something in June but no complaints here in any case
Hope you'll enjoy, let me know what you think when you have a chance to try the demo :)
I will buy this and wait for FM2-FM3 remakes warmly.
Will confirm how it works on Steam Deck and update, but this will be day 1 buy!
EDIT: It works so wonderfully on Steam Deck <3 shows around 3hrs of battery life and battery usage of around 13W (I lowered textures from Ultra to High and also AA to Disabled), 15W on game's default settings.
I am SO WAITING FOR THIS GAME!
Two things comes to mind about the game that I would love to see in the final product:
1) Camera horizontal rotation swap (just like there's already Y rotation) - but this can be changed directly under Steam Deck settings, so no big issue.
2) Cursor movement - so when I press Up on d-pad, the game cursor goes to up-right, instead of up-left.
Otherwise - I'm in love!
I assume control rebinding will be available in the full release, I only ask because I usually like to move the map around with WASD in these types.
I did run into a minor problem when scrolling the tactical view around with the mouse, since the cursor isn't locked to the game window it would drift to a secondary monitor when scrolling in that direction. Maybe lock that down or make it a toggle option atleast.
Otherwise this is looking to be a very nice port indeed
Looking forward to FM2/3 as well.
The game natively supports the DualShock 4(I don't have my DualSense handy to test that too), but only shows Xbox prompts.
Ideally this would be great if it were selectable manually from the options menu from a Switch/PS4/PS5/Xbox toggle (Yeah some ports currently like Persona 5 Royal even distinguish between the coloured PS4 buttons and the white PS5 ones - which is amazing! Though I'd just be happy with one or the other
I don't trust games that auto-detect and provide a bunch of prompts based on what they think we have either; pads like the 8BitDoPro lineup are typically always read as Xbox/steam controllers when I'd like to see PS UI prompts myself, and some games themselves (WWE2K23..
Even though I personally played this demo with M+K, I can see the full release being a perfect steamdeck game too so +1 for manual UI controller selection.
