If there are two things I would have liked for the devs to change is the skill system and the menus. Still it's a pretty good game.
1: If you want to change a part in the shop and you already own that part it should pull it from your inventory first, rather than buy a new one.
2: Allow you to "unequip" in the shop. It could be as easy as adding an "empty" item in the shop list that does not cost anything.
Lastly, not shop related, but menu related.
The "guide/duel" skill "no guide" button either needs a hot key or the button needs to be relocated to the top left corner where the weapon selection is.
Better yet, allow us to "unequip" learned skills. That skill is worthless and it just adds an extra mouse move and click to every attack.
I see what you are saying. The whole experience could have been combined into 1 menu page. But at the same time they need to keep it like the original FM1.
I felt the same way. In Front Mission 2089 on DS too, we were able to change those with R1/L1.
No they didn't. They just didn't bother to update archaic systems. Everything non-visual was simply copy pasted from DS version without a single thought.
Right, total overhaul transition from pixels to 3D models, new camera modes. But adding L1/R1 swap to setup and merging selling/buying/setup together is big no? That is very naive thinking.
This is the most basic of basics QoL improvements any Remake could and should have done.
They could for example give us the possibility to create template models for different roles.
Like a melee build and once you have upgraded your melee build, you can apply it to all your melee characters versus payment
Menus not being slow as hell is huge improvement ALREADY.
I simply can't play original game anymore.
My only problem is that there doesn't seem to be any scrolling, I'm using a 4K display.
Great game anyway.
I'll second a few requests here:
1. Combine the setup menus: it should show how many equipped & unequipped of an item are currently in inventory and equip any existing items before purchasing a new one.
2. The "currently" equipped section under the right side panel should list what the current item's stats are.
3. The Buy window doesn't scroll, this is just a bug.
4. Add a sell all button to the sell windows. After re-equipping my mechs I haven't found a use for old equipment yet, going through and updating the quantity of each item to sell is just tedium.
Not menu related but please...
5. Add a middle option between instant attacks and the full side by side view version. I'd love to play combat from top down only but still actually see the animations & fx.
