Skills?

When do skills start getting learned? I'm on mission 6 or 7, and I've got s couple pilots thst are level 9. I haven't even see it mentioned in the game yet other than there is a skill board for the pilots.

I think Royd gets his first around level 11 or so. I did some arena grinding early on and unlocked the first skill that way =)

If i remember well (almost 30 year old game haha) Skill Will unlock as you lvl up the character.

That depends on the role you are trying to get a skill at and the proficiency of a character in that role (Melee, Short, Long, Dodge). It's something along 1500, 2000, 2500 or 3000 exp depending on the character
