They said it's a remake
But what did they remake aside from the original graphic
Has any gameplay changed?
Did they have other systems like skill sets and other things from a newer front mission?
Cause from what I'm looking at the page and review
I can't find anything new

Original Front Mission 1 already has skill sets.

This is a remake, but everything is lifted up from NDS version, just graphical change.
If you dislike changes, this game is for you!

Why it should have skill sets like in FM3 or 4? At that point it wouldn't be FM1 but something else. The balance will be totally different.

FM1 hs always, afaik, had part aiming. If by that you mean the ability to aim for specific wanzer parts. It has to be unlocked though, it's not available from the beginning. Look for "Duel" for short, "Guide" for long.

And why do you think RE2 remake has a quality of RE4 with 3rd person view and shoulder perspective?

It's remake, not remaster or definitive edition. They have a freedom to re-imagine however they want as long as the soul is still there.
There are many Front Mission kind of game that came out recently[some are demo]

I think I did play this game somewhere but damn, I feel like I'm playing an old game from 20-30 years ago.

I guess it's the problem with my expectation with the word remake and not remaster.
And maybe I just don't like 1st front mission[which I don't remember] but I do remember front mission 2. [maybe because I did own ps1]

Well yeah, they also have the freedom to not re-imagine anything, which is a perfectly valid approach to games that might hold up with a facelift and some qol changes. Specially after what they did to Tactics Ogre...

I feel like the words remake/remaster are used basically at random very often and there's little to go by there, but I can understand how you feel. I didn't play 1 personally, but I feel like I might enjoy it, but it's not something I'm in a rush to play.

If the later games improved the gameplay, then is logical that a remake would or should update things. Like why would someone want it to play exactly like the SNES version...

Huh... never expect a dev to actually reply on a steam discussion thread. Hello there, Dev. Do you recommend this game of yours?

That's nonsense because some people like the games as they are.

Hello, sure, tho you need to keep in mind it's rather an old-school tRPG :) If you like the setting and want to get into the franchise it's a great starting point

Updating the mechanics to match the newer games would have required a complete rebalancing of all the missions. This isn't a AAA dev, so i doubt they got the resources for such a major redesign.

Despite the older mechanics, it's not by any stretch a bad game. It's still very fun to play and i enjoyed it quite a lot on the SNES.

Encounter this in the RE4make board.
Changes = bad.

Now go to this board.
No changes = bad.

Oh well, everyone got an opinion.
