I was banned for saying.

"Is anyone else concerned that this game was pushed out early (not ready, but early access will do) because of the Motorsport Games financial situation?
If this bombs I can see Motorsport Games pulling the plug on Studio 397 and we will be left with a dead game."

Its a really bad thing trying to silence people opinions.

i don't care about that. Rather give it a try and write a review of it. That gives more word to the people who invested in their pre-alpha game.
And prevents people to wasting their money in vain.

edit: downloading the game right now

almost 2 hours in and it's just to mess with the FFB ... menu, practice alone, feels just fluid, but when I tried to do a race with the AI, the menus felt buggy and very slow. Also before that, the game crashed and all the FFB settings I had (felt smooth), were gone, even if the values were there. It was like in practice was one thing, and racing with the AI was another. But even without any feel at all (at least in low speeds until 220khp), the game ran fine. Until I hit the wall after a FFB setting testing and the AI crashed into me and flipped the car. (lol).

Also didn't change a single graphic setting at all.

That is a bummer.
They should have reassured you instead of silencing you.

Perhaps you burst someones bubble.
It is also possible that they are sick of answering that question. It has been a concern of mine and others that i know.

100% this. The fact that they're hiding that Motorsport Games still owns Studio 397 (store page only lists S397 as Dev and Publisher, only mention of MSGM is in the EULA under privacy) is sus.

That said... game is showing 4,615 in-game concurrently, that's nearing 3x the rF2 all-time peak... just confirmation they should had ditched rF2 long ago and moved on.

I really hope things improve with patches and future updates, it looks great it just needs more work.
Hopefully it performs well enough to keep S397 in business, I really get the feeling they are under pressure from Motorsport Games to deliver.

It is doing much better then i thought it would. Almost 4k players is REALLY good.
I am interested in this, even still i thought it would be a niche within a niche and just looked over and forgotten.

Glad i was wrong.
The sounds in the game are amazing and can't wait to try it out once we get the VR update

Regardless of feelings for/against MGS, S397 is a good group and existed before and likely will continue to exist in some form if MGS were to go away.

I don't think the comment above should have been met with a Ban but to be fair what does a comment like that add except to instigate?

It wasn't to instigate as such, it was more of a "if I buy this game will it still be in development if the publisher goes bust"
Motorsport games has had a extension to the stock market de-listing, my feels are if this doesn't do well from the start it may not be supported for very long.
Nothing against S397, I very much want another great sim racing title and hope it does develop in to a great game.
djfil007 Feb 20, 2024 @ 3:24pm
Agree, nothing specifically against S397... though to be honest they are a shell of the original company from years ago when formed after ISI sold rFactor 2 to them, and few big names have left their team in last year or two.

But if MSG was to fail, S397 need a new buyer/investor to keep them (and LMU) alive as I don't think they could buy out their debts from MSG to stay running.

Yes, MSG is on brink of bankruptcy, and brink of being delisted from NASDAQ (not enough shares held by the public)... so it's not just sales from LMU, but they'll likely need to bring in few new investors to keep the lights on.

someone remember the nascar fiasco

Trolls should always be banned. They are not productive, they are mostly toxic and a waste of everyone's space. As you have proven their decision is correct as you are here trolling for sympathy for deliberately trying to agitate people with unjustified claims
Zakalwe Feb 20, 2024 @ 6:27pm
It's so much better than it should have been, given the turmoil that surrounds the publisher. The more I play, the better it gets, and the driving feel...best out there? Maybe. Certainly nicer than its parent rF2. I've always liked S397 though. A great bunch of lads.

I'd focus on the devs, not the horrific spivs in the background. If MSG gets the chop, S397 will live on.
