No FFB for Thrustmaster T-500
I was pretty excited to try out this game. I know there is some controversy about future pricing schemes, but everybody has to make a living.

My problem is the complete lack of FFB with my Thrust master T-500 wheel.
I tri3d several combinations, low to high and vice versa, I mapped a button to reload FFB, nothing.

I can tell there the shadow of "something" in there, but so far all the cars are almost undrivable because on top of having no FFB there seems to be a center wheel problem as well (basically what little FFB is there wants to turn the wheel off-center, very little, but it's there).

I searched for proper settings, but it seems like everyone is using DD wheels these days.
I'd like one, so if your answer is "upgrade your wheel", you are welcome to buy me one. Other than that, unless a new DD wheel is going to make me at least 2 seconds faster per lap, I am ok with what I have.

I'd appreciate any solutions to this issue. Thank you.

Have you tried inverting the FFB is settings? also make sure Steering helper is not on in the settings too.

Yes, I have tried that and then some. I even created a quick spreadsheet on my iPad so that I would not be repeating configurations needlessly.
When I first installed the game, there was a weird feeling of the wheel wanting to go off-center, which I recognized as the sort of thing one would fix with "Invert FFB", which I did and it helped insofar as the wheel not wanting to turn on its own. However, after that no FFB at all no matter what I did.

It's a shame because aside from the FFB, I can tell it's an excellent game. Certainly more polished than the mess RF2 was the last time I tied it (however, FFB worked well there)

Thank you though. It's always good to make sure I didn't overlook the basics. I think at this point there is a fundamental incompatibility between my configuration and the game (which lists all my peripherals correctly). I even tried to reduce my controllers to just the TM Base and my pedals, to no effect whatsoever.

I was able to momentarily restore fib, but it went away almost immediately after trying to fine tune it.

I also discovered that after playing Wec (without fib) there is no fib in Automobilista 2 and ACC either and in the T500 control panel there is no response to pressing the simulation buttons on tab 2.

Repairing that (I forgot how, since I am also dealing with Covid) fixes the fib for all games back to normal and in one case it fixed it for the WEC game.

Unfortunately, I had fib set at 200% so it almost broke my arms the moment the game gave me control.
I paused, lowered to 100% and… no fib again. Back to square 1.

Bottom line, something is corrupting the t500 brain in some way, be it driver, uni file or what not.

I’ll keep looking.

Hi. For the T300 i had to uninstall the driver and install a new one (not an upgrade ;-).
In the top right of the T500 Control panel, you should have :
Package 1 TTRS 2024
firmware : 47.00
Driver : 2.11.57.0

Reset the Windows calibration (Racing Wheels) This guide aims to help you reset the Windows calibration if you’ve used it to configure your product. It is important to reset this configuration, as it conflicts with the default product calibration and the one carried out by our driver. To reset it, please follow the steps below: 1) Make sure you have properly uninstalled your product’s driver. To do so, right- click the Windows Start button, in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen, and select “Apps & features”. 2) In the newly opened window, you will find a search bar. Type “FFB Racing Wheel”. The search tool will find the driver, called “FFB Racing Wheel drivers”. If it doesn’t find anything, search for “Thrustmaster” and see if you are offered a driver called “Thrustmaster Force Feedback Drivers”. Click on the driver: two options are offered to you, “Modify” or “Uninstall”. Click “Uninstall”. Note: if your racing wheel is a T80 or a Red Legend, the name of the driver you need to uninstall is “Thrustmaster FFB driver". 3) Once the uninstall is complete, restart your computer. 4) Now that your computer has restarted, connect the product for which you need to reset the calibration (your racing wheelbase) to your computer. 5) Simultaneously press the “Windows” and “R” keys on your keyboard. 6) In the newly opened window, type “joy.cpl” without the quotation marks. 7) The Game Controllers window opens. You will find your racing wheel listed there, with its default name: “Thrustmaster FFB Wheel” (or another name if, for example, you are using a T80; in that case, the racing wheel will be listed under the name “Thrustmaster T80”). 8) Click on your racing wheel, then click “Properties”. A new window opens: select the “Settings” tab and click “Reset”. Then, click “OK” to close the window. 9) Disconnect the product from your computer. 10) The reset of the Windows calibration is now complete. You must now reinstall your product’s driver. In the event that one or more of these steps does not proceed correctly, we ask you to please let our customer service team know. Ideally, any screenshots or photos illustrating the issue encountered, or the error message displayed, would be of great help to us.

There is also a workflow (procedure) for "wheel no longer recognized" that contents a temporary "bulk-driver".. Don't know if available for T500.

hope it helps..

sounds like you're hanging on to this T500 as if an old trophy - It really sounds like your T-500 is dying of deth from aging/usage. Its an older wheel, so unless reinstalling PC Thrustmaster drivers and updating firmware works, upgrading/new wheel might be necessary, lest ye play the dreaded gaymepad.

Hi, first, sorry for my approximate english, I'm french, so...
Just like you, I have a T500 and I have problems in LMU. When I start the game, the FFB is really excellent....for 15 or 20 minutes. At this time, it disappaers suddenly, and seems disconnected in the T500 control panel too.
The only solution I found (except restarting the PC) is to disconnect -in game- the USB cable and reconnect it , then thre FFB stars again for a while.
Alas, I think the wheel is too old now for new games....

Thx, but this does NOT fix the described problem. Something in LMU is so bugged that FFB on Thrustmaster devices gets deactivatet it completely after some time in the game.

No other games show such a behaviour. And as others have this problem also, it is quite obvious that this is not a device or driver problem, but a severe bug in the game itself. And as long as this bug is not fixed, I won't put any more money into the game (buying DLCs, season pass etc.).

Happening to me on my Fanatec CSW v2.5 with McLaren rim. It isn't the age of your equipment, it is something wrong in the game code. Ignore the simps telling you otherwise, they know no more than you, less in fact.
I have found a solution, following a suggestion encuntered in the web. You should install an oldest version of the T500rs drivers. Et voilà!

Reinstall.. I was trying torque sensitivity and lost all fbb unless I reset it to 100 percent..
This was not a constant issue but lmu works very well with g hub and the g pro but I have had other performance issues and reinstalling seems to help after updates so id recommend that.
Unfortunately the t500 is a very old wheel base so it could simply be that's the issue but I don't really see why it wouldn't work . Fo thruster drivers/firmware still update for that base?

Should point out the t300 works fine but have seen people have issues with the ts xw. Search the lmu official sub reddit
