LMU with simagic alpha
I just ordered an alpha + gt neo bundle. I am coming from a t300 and when I tried lmu awhile ago it wasn't the best ffb wise and the wheel felt dead in the center. I was hoping it would just be the same ffb as rf2 but weirdly it's not. Maybe I set it up wrong. Idk.

Anyone here using simagic? Is it good or bad? What is your experience with lmu and your simagic setup?

Also I probably won't buy the season pass right away, prob be a week or 2, does that severely limit me from competing in MP lobbies or can I only not join tracks that are included in the season pass? Pretty much I'm wondering if not having the season pass leaves me SOL with playing online. Thanks in advance.

"or can I only not join tracks that are included in the season pass?"
This.

All the beginner races use the base tracks so you can always race that without the season pass.

I have an alpha mini and can confirm the FFB is much better now.

Not a huge deal to me. I'll be buying it in a week. Plus I can get a monthly sub and then cancel it if I really can't live without racing x track or car. I'm buying lmu regardless. Just not in a rush with my t300.

Other reply about your simagic alpha mini. Thank you for clarifying. Do you just use the simagic(simpro) software and hit the lmu profile or? I almost got the alpha mini too as that was all I could afford with my budget but Microcenter stopped the sale so I was all pissed about missing it. It about ruined my day but then I found out about sim shop and they have an alpha bundle with gt neo for $60 more than what I would be spending at MC. So in the end thank you MC for stopping the deal, I'm now getting an alpha! Sorry I'm just excited. Haha.

Does soft lock not work for this or did you find you just like 540 the best?

I donno never set my Simpro to say 900, 1080 I usually stick one car in a sim so always set it to that cars rotation to make sure the softlock is there.
I'm a sim racing noob, but bought the Simagic Alpha and GT Neo wheel (Simjack UT pedals). All I can say is that within five minutes, LMU was more fun and drove more realistically than AC, ACC and AMS 2 hands down. Like not even close.

That's good to hear. Have you tried iracing yet? If not and live in the usa or Canada you can donate 10 dollars and get a year of iracing + the f4 car(10 dollar value). It ended up taking like a week to get my code(it's all done on volunteer hours) but it was only 7 usd(10CAD). Google FIA iracing promo. It's for new accounts only. So far iracing is really good for player numbers but not alot of free races. I'm waiting until the start of season 2 to buy content. Still not sold on iracing though. It just looks so dated but the driving and ffb even for just my t300 is really good. Iracing has some updates coming to update the ui and include overlays, which is severely needed.

How did u get the rpm lights to work on the gt neo
I have just bought a Simagic Alpha with a GT Neo wheel just 2 weeks ago. LMU will not run with it in my case. My game crashes the minute I switch it on. If I try to run the game withe the Simagic on it wont start and if I switch it on whilst in game it automatically crashes as the game will load to menu with my simagic off. So I personally am having problems. I have tried everything - uninstalling, reinstalling, verify files etc - with no joy. I have now uninstalled and will try again after some updates in the hope it gets better. So in my case I can say that switching to simagic from Moza has caused me considerable issues.

It sounds to me like you need to delete all your settings. Watch this video (https://youtu.be/UHMKVieEz8U?si=De8D5SXMuUskHQCi&t=138) but instead of changing anything just delete all the files where he points you too (in userdata, everyone forgets about userdata). My buddy was having a similar issue and he just deleted all his games userdata and documents settings files and he was able to fix it. Also make sure you are running the latest firmware. A lot of people don't read simagics included material and the first thing they say to do is update firmware. With the Power on self test: leave it alone (so many youtubers grab it or don't let this happen properly, and none of them updated the firmware). They just install the base fire up a game and send it, luckily they didn't have any issues. So yea I would start there and work backwards. If all else fails post your problem in the simagic discord/reddit.

That sucks you are having this issue. Do you also have the moza software still running (using a shifter or pedals)? If so I've heard both programs can bring issues, if you can uninstall everything moza and try that. I'm so glad I skipped moza, moza was nothing but headaches for my buddy. This is exactly why I didn't play more than 10 mins with my t300 on LMU, no point in going over 2 hours finding out I also have issues with my new simagic base with LMU and not being able to refund. I would probably still go post in the reddit/discord to maybe let the simagic people know about the issue, or maybe even motorsports reddit/discord to show they have a bug with something. Will they care? idk but its worth trying. I wish you the best of luck!

Edit: I just found this too, might be worth a try: https://www.reddit.com/r/Simagic/comments/1b24ywr/lmu_sim_pro_manager/

Also try to download the beta simpro software(simagic discord: https://discord.gg/vaFpYEay), I heard that also has helped a few people. Once you accept invite do the first couple things to unlock servers(I think you have to reply to a DM or something, cant remember) then click simpro 2 beta releases on the left. Hopefully something sorts your issue!

Also just saw this so give this a read: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2399420/discussions/0/594016530242527768/

First of all thank you so much for such a comprehensive reply to try and assist me Nate - that is very kind and hugely appreciated. I will give all the above a good try and report back how I get on. But again, just a huge thank you for being so kind and taking the time to try and help my situation. Wishing you the very best.
I have bought a SImagic alpha, i have it since 1 month. I use defautl settings from the simagic software and now problem so for. I was coming from a fanatec b elt drive wheel and at first i was like, humm this is it ?? this is a direct drive feel? it was almost like my belt drive but after a couple of laps, i knew the difference.. I wont go back. Dont forget that the first lap. tyre are cold and it feel weird but after 2 3 laps, everything fine
i will add. DIrect drive feel like a belt drive. ITs just that the difference between high and low force is bigger than a b elt drive. You feel low force that you dont feel with a belt drive.. Its also faster to react. My lap times improved and consistency too.
