Finally got the game and the multiplayer feels underwhelming..

I think if you don't have any friends to play with then there are some good aspects with the championship and all but the gap between the daily races is too long, really not much variety in events, no way to play online with a friend besides the custom lobbies which are very few in numbers. And co-op mode is.. well it feels like trying to make it work with your long-D girlfriend while we both know it's not going to work out.

I can see why serious racing sim players will switch to this game rather than ACC but if you want to race other people while hanging out with your friend, I just don't see myself playing this game.

I would be more than happy to come back when there are more population in the custom lobbies and/or LMU updates more ways to play with friends online 'at the same time'.

Yep I have been saying this for months, the game might be attractive to solo queue players up to a point, but due to the business model and the cost of servers, it is very difficult to justify playing this for any active community.
