Good news. I just tested it and they all used wet tires. Party on!
Did have this once but only when I left track dry.
so the main problem was that they went in with wet tyres, but it wasn't wet enough for them to keep them so they all pit together and change to softs (presumably).
Ok, so, I made sure the first slot was heavy rain, and then made the rest of the slots sunny. It stopped raining before the first lap finished, and didn't even get to the point of spray. No one went into the pit, everyone kept the wets on the entire race. I also didn't change the track's default wetness.
This is a good result, so as long as the first slot is heavy rain at least, the cars will start with wets and not pit to change them. I am ok with this, just have to remember that first slot to be heavy rain.
