Settings for XBOX One controller
If you open "gamepad.json" with Notepad etc. and make the following settings, the drive will be comfortable, so please use it as a reference.

"options":{
"Brake Bias Axis":false,
"Brake Sensitivity":0.5,
"Clutch Sensitivity":0,
"Gear Select Button Hold":true,
"Hardware 3Digit Display":1,
"Keyboard Brake":0.5,
"Keyboard Clutch":0.2,
"Keyboard Throttle":0.5,
"Never Release Device":false,
"Sensitivity Type":2,
"Steering Aggression":0.1,
"Steering Rate Factor":0.5,
"Steering Return Rate Multiplier":1,
"Steering Sensitivity":0,
"Steering Snap Factor":0.5,
"Steering Speed Sensitivity":0.65,
"Steering Wheel Maximum Rotation":900,
"Steering Wheel Maximum Rotation From Driver":true,
"Throttle Sensitivity":0.5,
"use leds":false
}

In particular, when "Sensitivity Type" is set to "1", the assist is strong, so "2" or "0" is recommended.

Is there a place with documentation of each parameters and their meaning ? How did you figure out what the assist type does for example ?

This game is based on "rFactor2", but when I checked the "gamepad.json" of rFactor2 that I own, it was almost the same as Le Mans Ultimate, so I ported the settings.

That was my asumption, I do not have rF2 though to compare. Seems you were playing it with gamepad already, did you just came up with your settings as time went on, or did you find any proper documentation in forum/discord ?

It´s a usual habit for rF2 players to look into json file, because there is so much more you can configure. And due to it is more or less the rF2 engine , there must be a json file.

Thanks. I mostly drive with wheel, but if I'm in a hurry and have little time, I use XBox Controller so I don't have to setup everything.

I noticed that with the default controller settings, it's almost impossible to drive. If you steer a little, the car turns a little, as expected. But if you steer more, there is a point for me where the driver just goes crazy and steers very hard. It's impossible to get something in the middle. It even looks funny how the virtual wheel moves so suddenly.

I adjusted it to fit my senses without checking the forums etc.

So is 1 equal to 100% and does it mean 50% is linear, 0% is exponential, and 100% is logarithmic, like in rf2 with 100% being linear, 0% being exponential, and 200% is logarithmic? And would speed sensitivity not be best at 50%?

I set the sliders to 0 dead zone and 70 steering sensitivity. It's not perfect, but feels miles better than standard. I'm not f***ing around with JSONs until things settle down a bit after the release.

I f***ed around with json :), set s t to 0 and it feels a bit more natural now. Thanks for that.

D'you know what would really help? Something like RaceRoom's OtterHud but for rF2. I want the rev limit indicator where I can actually see it! Yes, I DO drive from the bonnet cam ;-)
