So does it use the native resolution of the HMD. Or is just fixed one lower resolution regardless of the HMD?

Can't answer for sure but it feels like its using the native HMD resolution without any supersampling, which is suboptimal. You can force some AA from the nvidia control panel, but I don't think its worth the trade.

Yes it does work. the biggest issue is centering the view. my hand controller didn't bring up recenter but I did do it with steam settings just not very well and a bit awkward. resolution is adequate they should just enable it and get with it

If S397 would let us map a VR center key ala RF2 I would put up with the workaround issue on the desktop. The little driving I did to test it out was great. After 4 years of VR only i can't drive on flat screen, even sub optimal vr is better than none.

But that would require a hand controller or can it be done using mouse or keyboard?

You can bind a button on your wheel etc for vr reset by editing direct input.json

quick guide

first bind a key for your wipers

then go to your install folder of Le Mans Ultimate

steamapps\common\Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\player and find the direct input.json

open it scroll go to the bottom
find the wiper mine was like this

"device":"Universal HUB-768565F96D37D8F9",
"id":51
replace the line "Wipers":{ with "VR : Re-Center head position":{

save the file now go back to the game you will have to re bind the wipers on a different button and that should get you a re center VR button

remember your device name will be different to mine

I have Big Screen Beyond and all my settings are in Ultra except for like few things in high, the performance has been great. I'm getting stable 75fps which is the default full resolution. The biggest performance gain for me was going from i7-10700k to 7800x3d with ddr5 ram, gen 5 ssd. Both chip I'm running 4090 card.

This worked excellent. I was able to map a button on my steering wheel to re-center vr.

Adolfi, just wanted to pass on a massive thank you for your VR tutorial, I've been waiting for VR to be implemented into this game before purchasing and having watched your tutorial on how to do it has given me that option.
It runs really well with my Quest 3, I set the graphics as per your advice and the only settings I had to mess with a little bit were the force feedback and foot control calibrations for my Thrustmaster TS-XW racing wheel, the Thrustmaster SF1000 add-on Ferrari wheel works perfectly. May look into getting the telemetry working as the SF1000 display doesnt show any of the car info, but racing in VR that doesn't really matter anyway.
