The devs have come out and said the fix is coming in the next patch. Only time will tell if it does work.
Don't care what anyone says, they are currently a grip hack that are making even some of the top drivers quicker. In ranked racing, that is just wrong.
I will wait to see how the patch handles the issue before judging it again.
For now I will just continue playing the game and accept many are setting times well above there skill level. I suspect those are the ones who don't see it as a issue.
Yeah, by several seconds a lap. They use the abs and don't brake until they're on top of the turn. No chance of spinning or having to correct on exit because of stability and tc, not including what comes with the car. You can see it in the videos.
I play for the sim experience and don't care too much about wins but it would be nice to know that it's a level playing field.
It's quicker and safer. ABS and Stability are basically cheats. With former you'll save your tires, and later gives several seconds a lap with traction control set up right in the car.

I thought he was running stability but it was only ABS. You can see by the end of the race how much advantage that gave him though. His tyres were clearly in a better window and was able to close down on Caique by the end. He obviously didn't have one lockup in the race so he could brake much later with much less tyre wear by the end.
Bare in mind this is the top split. So someone has only managed a P2 due to running assists. This is also ranked racing not just a random lobby.
Here is the log of all assists driver were using in the race

The race itself, as you can see, myself and Caique are locking up now and again, P2 has no such issues. Cant imagine the time a average driver would gain if the top drivers are gaining this much advantage. Hopefully the patch wont be long so we can actually see the true pace of drivers better.

After experimenting a bit, I think that same, and faster lap times are possible without assists, it's just harder to drive without them, and easier to make mistakes. A lot of time can be gained by fooling around with in game traction control and break balance. Though, I'm still convinced that assists are helping a lot with tire life.
Oliveira even commented on a recent video about it, he said even he found time but it wasn't much for him (he is currently the quickest driver in game) I did try briefly offline, I could brake so much later and there is no risk of locking up.
Like I said, that was the top split, some Were using stability, abs and steering assist. Quickest drivers are using them but its not a issue
Quite funny people are awarding me points but wont call me out on it as the evidence is right there in front of them. I will enjoy my steam points anyway
