the price of the crafted items
for what reason are the things I made by carpentry in elf settlements 10 or more times more expensive than in human settlements?

Elves are generally strange:
- they hang unforgivable crimes for cutting down a tree, but at the same time they have carpenters and woodcuters...

I think the high prices for carpentry products are related to some part of this logic...

Thats true.
Yesterday I even checked this thing: if you bring goods to one settlement (I carried 500+ units each) and sell them, then the next time you visit the same settlement, you can find that the price of the previously sold goods has dropped.

I was talking about something else a little bit. in the settlements of elves and humans, there are identical workbenches, but if you make a conditional shield on them, then a shield made in an elven settlement costs 35, and a shield made by humans costs 5. This price did not depend on the race of the buyer, the product itself made in the elven settlement is more expensive. I don't know about other specializations, but that's exactly how it is with carpentry

Yes, pay attention to the materials from which you make things.
In addition, prices vary from settlement to settlement: somewhere food will cost 88% of the full cost, and somewhere an NPC will buy it from you for 150%.
In particular, this happens on my map.

The cost of the material is simply added to the cost of the goods, and 35 is a simple shield made of ordinary wood on a workbench in an elf settlement. If I make it on a workbench in a human settlement or my own, then this shield will cost 5.

And the price at which they buy these shields from me is 37% everywhere, so it doesn't depend on it. It is the product itself from the same materials, but made in the settlement of the elves for some reason costs many times more expensive. And so it is in different worlds, I do not understand what the point is

The person who wrote this has been in the community for a long time and is the author of several mods from the workshop. I think we can believe it and leave the question.))

Well, I said it was 'either bug or feature' ;)

It was reported a few times, and no action was done yet, so it's kinda unclear if this is a minor bug or a feature at this point.
