How to have more kids
I married someone and immediately had a child and was hoping to have more children, I read the update post and it said you can spend time in the settlement and that's what I did. I spent time there not simulating and then even more time simulating time by working in my family building. despite both I did not have more children and I am wondering what I did wrong.

As far as I can tell there's a random chance for you to have a kid. Maybe there's some mechanic I haven't found yet, but I don't think so. I have no idea if the simulation has pregnancy in place either, but it might!

Try to simulate longer or come back after a while, it may take a few years.

My character is a dwarf and he is 130 years old.
Three of my spouses died of hunger and I brought a new spouse.
We have spent nearly 60 years working together in the village, but we have yet to have a child...

feeding the wives seems like a potential starting point

but clearly i'm not an expert so take it with a grain of salt

maybe the kids didn't get made because the settlement doesn't have enough food to support them?

Maybe it had something to do with food.
Maybe they were using caravans to export too much food.
Still, other settlers had more children.

I also realized that in order to court a new spouse, I had to establish a new family.
Had I made a mistake in operating when I first started my family?
There are three unused family names.
I was able to identify them as spouses, but they may have been separated.

Let me report.
My dwarf then changed spouses and retired at 200, but was not blessed with children.
I spent one year in the village and even ventured to spend 10 years there.
The time I waited to have children would be about 120 years.

The village could be developed to 3 levels and I visited the settlement with a new character.
I was trapped in z:-10000000 darkness.
I enjoy this game but spend a lot of time on the internet to cross reference information. I am getting more and more confused.

- rolls dice for virility
- critical fail, no children in this lifespan

I'm surprise that you can stay with one character for IG hundred of years. How can you even survive for that long as a character? My human characters tend to die just after they reach 20 - 30 years old.

Does anyone have any great insight on which factors influence the siring of children?

Do we actually have to simulate time spent in the village to get kids, or can we just go out adventuring all day? Do we ever have to talk to our spouses, or spend time in the same map with them?

I've got an elven first kid just by being in settlement naturally, like cooking 1000+ of raw meat and etc. to get second one, most likely need to use "spend time".

this system is kinda frustrating even simulating 10 entire years dont give you an offspring. i nearly wasted 40 years with this ♥♥♥♥.

was mentioned in the most recent patch notes that the offspring chance was adjusted to be more likely, so hopefully this is fixed now

pretty sure younger adults are more likely to have kids, it was mentioned in the last patch notes that age factors in to offspring chance.

As for whether you have to be in village while simulating time, I'm not sure (but would assume so). I haven't had a chance to try everything out yet.

i did this after the fix and i added another 20 years in the mean time with no results, all this was simulated while in the village i also probably crafted at least a 1000 units of linen and a few hundred units of bronze ingots
