Going from Easy to Troublesome
Is this supposed to be a cosmic leap in difficulty? I don't mind steep slopes at all, but these encounters are seemingly impossible. I go from doing mad damage, and taking none, to take mad damage and doing none.

My characters were fully equipped on stuff from the Easy POI's and skill capped at 20. I'm not even a speed bump for these things. What am I doing wrong?

There are different 'easy' and 'troublesome' POI, some 'easy' are harder than some of the 'troublesome'. Also the game provides warious ways to get more power, POI just beaing one of the way.

since theres no real level system it is often a bit unclear, when its safe to progress to the next tier.

easy iirc is enemies with 20-50 hp or so. could be 1, could be 10. could be melee, could be ranged.

troublesome is 50-120hp or so enemies.

hard is 300-400 hp enemies or so.

extreme is 400-900 or so.

defense's and HP. expect enemies to hit you for about 10% of their hp. so, a 300 hp enemy will probably hit you for about 30. so, if you only have 100 hp, and no def at that point, going to have a bad time.

"skill capped at 20" I wonder what you mean by that exactly. 20 in the 3 you choose, and 10 in everything else? didn't train at all? do any crafting?
do you have 10 in everything else? leveling up other skill trees if only for the stat points is powerful. raising the skillcap on key skills then via training.

Endurance is going to give you HP, and phy resist. willpower regen, and elemental resists. be sure to invest judicially.

there are then also many tricksy tools. lunge, knockback, vanish, etc for survival. floromancy tree wall. shields are powerful/protection.
Thanks Cass, the trouble I'm having is that Troublesome mobs are at the 200-300hp range, and there are lots of them (8+).

I'm playing a pyromancer, with axe and dagger secondaries. With my skills maxed at 20, my intelligence is approaching 40. I'm hitting just about every mob on a Troublesome map for 1 hp per attack, whether that be fire, axe, or dagger.

They on the other hand, are hitting me for 20+.

All my resists are above 10, with most in the 15-18 range.

I'd say instead of dagger equip a shield and level protection, also try to bait them one by one . also maybe consider lvling all other skills to 10 to get bonus skill points to endurance and will power for some hp and a bit of resistance.

You can maybe even go sword + shield just so you can parry if you really want to just pyromancer your way.

fire, axe, or dagger.
Fire, axe and dagger all scale from 3 different stats, you should focus on one, the easier character is strength focused (with shield or dual wield) using axe/sword(maybe mace).
Consider also looking at your equipment and check if you got any ingredients that give you any stats you desire (like Intelligence, Endurance and Willpower, or plain ol' Physical Resist). NPCs at towns can craft you equipment for a small fee + any materials you give them. Depending on their race, they have different offers, so check around if there's any NPCs that can craft equipment you'd like.
Just remember that it takes a while for them to craft your orders, so you might wanna idle a bit in town.
