Who would have thought that a 2D Game with Sprites and basicly no Animations would have bigger Saves than a full fletched 3D AAA Game. But makes sense. More Data to store compared to Games like .. i dont know.. Call of Duty Singleplayer or Cyberpunk.
But all things aside, will Cloud Saves be a thing in the Future?
To me, Cloud Saves are quite important as i play on different Devices.
Desktop PC, Laptop and my Steam Deck. And ofcourse it would be awesome to play the same Savegame each time. :D
And please, before anyone comes and says, try third Party Cloud Services.. they all suck Ass.
The Free ones are unreliable and i dont want to spend Money each month for a Feature i barely use. Sometimes i use KDE Connect to transfer Data across my Systems. But .. well.. its.. not good. It sometimes Works. But thats it. Sometimes.. UI and reliability arent good. But its the best Free Choice i have currently. I used to use another third Party Cloud Service.. i forgot its Name. But it always ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the Savegames. Replacing the wrong ones or not syncing correctly. Had Trouble with holding a Connection and the worst of all. Somtimes it could access the Cloud Storage, but most often it couldnt and relied on you have both Devices on at the same Time which is.. unconvenient to say the least.
Steam Cloud so far is the non plus Ultra for me. Its easy to use. Convenient. And it just Works.
That being said, the Game works quite well on the Steam Deck, downloaded the Demo and instantly spent 4 Hours with it without any Problems aside of the wonky Control Scheme that Steam automaticly sets. But that isnt the Fault of the Game.
The game stores 3 backups, one for each year back. Mostly to recover in case of save corruption.
Oh that would have been nice to know. I only saw the player.sav one... what are the previous years called?
The path to backups is pinned here in the last point about save corruption: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2399160/discussions/0/4140565152681927975/
