Load old maps?
HI, I"m old, and I've got some ancient Marathon map files I created 30 frickin' years ago; can anyone tell me how to load those into this version, or point me to that info?

I opened up the Marathon.app folder hoping to find something there, but there were only like 3 files, nothing helpfully obvious...
Right click on Classic Marathon, then Properties. Select the "Installed Files" tab, and there is a browse button there. That should have Map.scen in it, you can put your other maps there and they'll show up in the Environment preferences in the game.

This might help but I never done it before myself, as far as I know maps should work, anything else like modded physics or sounds not entirely.

Here is a link to a guide:

The OG Marathon maps (and I mean really OG…Marathon version 1.2), to my knowledge at least, may actually not work properly at all in AlephOne because AlephOne is based off of the source code Windows 95 Version of Marathon 2 released by Bungie in 2002. A lot of Marathon 1 engine scenarios had to be ported to Aleph one in similar fashion that Marathon had been. That is to say they needed to be ported to the Windows 95 version.

Should work for Mac though again, keep in mind the Mac operating system it started on was System 7. So you’d still have to convert that maps file to the Marathon 2 Aleph One engine. The AlephOne team did an excellent port of Marathon.

No conversion is necessary, Aleph One can open Marathon maps directly. Just ask Steam where the data files are, copy the old maps in, and select one in Environment preferences.

Oh so it changed :-) I remember trying to import an M1 map to M2.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
