Does getting bit automatically make you infected?
I got bit by a zombie in combat, but there is nothing indiciating wether or not she's infected. Does getting bit mean you're infected or does the game alert you to it when you are? (Meaning bites aren't always infectious?)

No, it's kind of abstracted - you're more likely to get the "Infected" status if your health is low. If the bite does damage but doesn't cause the infected status, you can assume that it didn't break the skin, just hit the armor and caused impact damage or something.

Nope. The chance of getting infected goes up when your character is vulnerable (30 HP or less). If a character is infected, you will see an icon telling you that they are infected. You will also know if anyone is infected as there will be a morale penalty for it on the Daily Results screen.

Thank you both for clearing that up. Lost some progress earlier thinking I was screwed being bitten. Nice to know. Will make it far less annoying fighting zombies now.

You get infested when you see a red skull icon

I thought the PC was immune and only allies could be infected ? Is this not the case ?

Also do you have, and are you willing to reveal, the chance to be infected if your allies health is above 30 ?

No wait. I heard in the upcoming ironman mode, anti-biotic will only work on the PC. If he can't be infected then ;v ??????

from my experience (234hrs played), i only get bitten early game when i have low AC not due to low health, but then again i'm diligent with healing, and so my players are rarely on low health for more than 2 rounds. Quicksave often, and reload if you get bit.

The PC can be infected in Ironman/Hardcore mode. The infection will be a death sentence for everyone besides the player.

Would be nice to get that info in the tutorial considering the importance in the setting.

Yeah, I know this has a manual and all, but would be nice to have a little info on how bites work within the game itself. (I thought getting bit meant infection, didn't know there was only a chance of it)

So far, I've observed that getting bitten when KO has a very high chance of being infected.
I have never seen anyone infected in any other way

I had seen in EA i was fighting a zombie i had full heatlh it grabbed and bite me i get infected right away. Happened to me couple of times but few patches later it was gone and never see it again. Frankly i dont get the idea of antibiotics in this game. Other than Melina it is a waste

It was probabbly a plan to make infection rate much higher, but someone probabbly whined the game was too hard so they decreased it while forgetting the existence of anti-biotics.

However, when ironman mode comes out, anti-biotics are gonna be crucial. BUT I STILL DONT LIKE THE IDEA OF DISCRIMINATION!

Someone please go tell the devs that the idea that only the player will be saved by antibiotics is BS. After all, there is Melina, story-wise. Seriously, who thought that crap up?
