Help! GTX 760M, game says "Null"
Bought this game awhile back, was enjoying the game but then I wondered why the graphics on my game was set on low. Checked out the video settings and the only two choices it gives me is the laptop graphics card, or a "GTX Null device".

I google'd my problem and tried the fix of manually adding this game via Nvidia control panel but still no dice. Does anybody in the dev team or in this forum know a fix? Currently downloading a new update for my vid card (I only update the card when necessary).

I also just did a verify cache and every single time says theres 1 file missing, so maybe a bug? Please advice :( The game is playable for me... but I'd rather not suffer through low fps when I can play most games on high settings.

You added the game via nvidia to use the card by default and then went into the game options to set it as well? It is odd you are getting 1 file missing every check. You may want to uninstall and reinstall.

Sup.

Yeah I added the game via Nvidia Control Panel> 3D settings> then manually added the exe but still, doesn't accept it. I also updated my driver but still the same results. I'm going to try and do as you say, hopefully it works.

Well I give up :(

Can't get it to work. I only hope the devs release a patch soon that fixes this issue.

Are any of the folks having this problem running Nvidia Optimus? I've been trying to figure out what might be the source of the problem for you guys, so hopefully these links might have some solutions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzGugS05wo0

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/368288-33-disable-nvidia-optimus-nvidia-card

If you guys aren't using Optimus, we'll have to figure out what else could be causing it, but from what I've been reading, Optimus just doesn't play nice with some games, so it's a likely cause. You may have to install a regular version of Windows to override the Optimus drivers and then install regular nVidia drivers for that GPU. Thanks for your patience everyone, hopefully we'll get this sorted out for you soon!

Hey thanks for the reply.

I kinda did what was suggested in the video in the first place and I tried it again exactly as it was in the video and still no dice. Saw a solution about disabling the HD driver via Device Manager and reinstalling them again. Will edit or post back if it works. *crosses fingers*

EDIT: No joy. Did not work lol. Hope you guys are working on a fix soon, or someone figured already. From the 92 minutes I played I enjoyed the game immensly and I hope to enjoy it more once you guys have fixed all the issues In the meantime I'm off for FC4.

Every time something walks from one place to another it drops to maybe 1-4 frames per second, even on the lowest of settings. Impossible to run on the integrated and none of the solutions allow me to choose my dedicated GPU.

sorry to come across as pushy about this, I'm just afraid that because the problem is mostly solved by changing the Nvidia settings that this is getting a lower priority, but the workaround doesn't work for a tiny percentage of the players.

Sorry that this isn't working for you, you definitely haven't been forgotten! None of the workarounds in this thread are fixing the problem for you? And your drivers are all up to date?

As you pretty much said, because of the work around with Nvidia, it solves 99% of the people with this issue, so like you, I would assume this problem is at the bottom of their list :( [No disrespect to the devs, I know you guys are working hard]

EDIT: I tried the game today hoping my fix was included in the update hahaha, still didn't work. Deleted the game and redownloading hopefully that will fix it. Will update if it works.

Sorry, deleted my comment as soon as I found a thread on the IronTower forums! Didn't see someone already replied.

Seems they're still trying to figure things out!

Sadly, one of them work. checked for updates, none available. Ran as administrator, with High Performance card, set the 3D Application Settings to use the High Performance by default.

Anything I missed?

I was having the same issue and had to go into the nvidia 3d manager and set the game to be recognised. I know this hasnt worked for others but is worth a shot.

Hmm..that's everything I can think of. We'll keep looking for solutions!

ok i managed to find a workaround for this however it involves changing your bios setting so i can not take responsibilty. if you disable "secure boot device" in bios, game recognizes nvidia card. try at your own risk though :)
