Strategy Tips?
Keep getting done over by the looters and Bikie gangs.

Just how do you combat gangs that generally outnumber, outarm and out fight your pathetic group of four, usually armed with pea-shooters.

How about some of you Generals sharing your secrets of sucessful Combat.

Making sure you got the right characers is a good start, not going to go far fighting people if your crew cant hit the side of a barn.
Getting geared up is also important, every bit of armour helps and bringing the right weapons to the fight is important, i find giving a pump action shotgun to joel for example is a good early looter killer.

When fighting its best to pick off any enemies that are seperated from the group to reduce their numbers, after that you can either get in close and blast the ones with guns as enemy melee isnt a worry or find a way to get them to come into a bottle neck by making noise.
I'm with Nunn on this one. I often try to shoot them down and use bladed weapons on living. I've had situations where I've been out-gunned, but you just need to re-evaluate the situation, kill the ones with the guns first then beat on the mellee guys.

Few problems in life can't be solved with a sledgehammer.

Have anita wear the best armor you have, carry a sledgehammer, and make sure your character has 6+ perception and 1 point in leadership. Now look at what direction the enemy is facing. Are there any that are alone? Is there one who's much more dangerous than the others (Coyote Enforcer for example)?

Select Anita, have her set to sledgehammer and heavy swing, then "sneak up" on the biggest threat, in the direction that no one is looking. Then hit them. If you have 6+ perception your character's turn will come up, fight or don't, does'nt matter so long as you have the "Go!" leadership command, select it then select Anita so she goes again. Have her do an other heavy swing on the target. They'll be knocked unconcious, and if you're lucky you just "ended" the fight without making too much noise and the others aren't alerted.

This works with Bud/Vic with the crossbow, or if you're still poor the police shotgun. 2 shots of a crossbow fired by a high ranged skill person usually kills anything in the game. Predator Tank, Rogue Soldier, Milita Guard... anything.

You can get the sledgehammer from the locked room in the Llanno Hardware store. Just bash down the door, grab the sledge, and then you can pretty much kill anything you can encounter in the first week.

You can draw away people from groups by making SOME noise, as in make a clear path to the noise by opening a few doors. Then hit a locked door with a weapon. It should attract at least one of the enemy who checks out the noise (and possibly tries to repair the door). Kill that loner, repeat. There's even specific items for making noise in the game, noisemaker and firecracker.

Well in day 2 I want to a shelter and kill two marines and stole their armor in the beginning of the game.

If it's a big dangerous and there are quite a few zombies around I like to lure them to the coyotoes/looters/whatever is there. Like at the Alley north of the shelter. It makes them waste there ammo then, I surgically remove their limbs with my sharp toys. Be wary though when they start shooting there is a high chance of a horde spawning on the map.
