Fix Attacking Your Own Party Members
It serves no function as far as I can tell, and it causes you to essentially automatically lose the game if you misclick mid combat in the wrong mouse state. (Typically it's the medic this accident happens to in my experience since they right click the most.) If attacking your own allies has any function at all I'll concede that it should be in the game but I don't think it does. Just some feedback as misclicks happen, and I've had to reload saves losing long amounts of progress multiple times now due to accidents.

I would say there's something wrong in that it has become really easy to accidentally click attack on one of your own guys. For some reason the pointer will often switch to attack or throw grenade at an inadverdent time compared to previously.

Another thing I've noticed recently is an increased threat of some error box popping up that seems to be related to zombie pathfinding that leaves you stuck.
In the past you could hit retry a few times and it would get past it, but I've lost progress twice due to it in my latest save.

Just weird that I'm suddenly having these problems in the latest version. Used to be the game crashing was the biggest issue but it normally occurred in the Shelter so I never lost much progress. Think I've only had the game crash once in the new save.

^I definitely agree with your post. I'm not sure what's happened but it seems like the mouse changes states on its own now in between scenes or something.

I posted the same thing a week or so back. It's not as bad in "normal" mode, but ABSOLUTELY game-breaking in "Ironman" mode. After several hours in, I had to abandon Ironman and play Normal. :(

I wish I had a nickel for everytime I accidentally hit one of my own. I'd have, like, a bunch of nickels. Usually it's my main character I accidentally hit and then eveyrone else attacks him. I wind up reloading and if I forgot to hit f5 I wind up starting the whole map over.

Friendly fire has the function of getting rid of someone you want to arrange an 'accident' for . However the smart cursor isn't working properly. It shouldn't default to attack over allies. The devs are aware and will fix it.

So they still still haven't implemented a warning dialogue box that we have to confirm when doing this by accident?
Right clicking through for people with medbags is a pretty common thing and I lost count of how many times I did this on my first run.

Damn.. this game launched like 4+ months ago too... :S
Astonishing for this to still be an issue and absent..

Guess I'll continue to hold off on my second play until even more fixes come along then =(

why would you have a dialogue box for that?? how about, if your cursor turns into a crosshairs, DONT CLICK? a novel concept, i know

IF they implement something I hope it is only active for friendlies.

I had a little trouble getting used to not attacking my own teammates when I first started playing but got used to not clicking on them, and paying attention to what the icon looked like if I did, pretty fast.

I only need confirmation boxes when it asks me things like "are you sure you want to permanently delete this", not for half the things the PC makes me confirm. Otherwise the pixel box is just making me click again on what I already wanted to do.

I don't think they plan to do any kind of confirmation, they will just fix the smart cursor so it doesn't default to attack over friendlies.

again, in normal mode...everyone doesnt start attacking you (never happened to me anyway), but for some reason in Iron Man they do.
So, in normal, if I do hit someone, even if I knock them out, I continue anyway. It happens in real life....
Swinging in close combat...especially if you're not a trained soldier, it can be easy to hit someone else. Ok, fine, but then having everyone kill you for your mistake? no...not good.
I love this game, I really really do, but this day and age with SOOOO many indie games being developed, people are really going to nit-pick bugs in games and judge the whole game by those bugs.
The Dead State team (IMO), should make these fixes #1 priority...again, just my opinion.

..Ok then will there be another method like a hotkey or something to bring up the medbag cursor for healing rather than right-click spam that is the leading cause for this in the first place?

Can confirm that in normal your entire party attacks the main character if you attack anyone on accident with any character. Hit Vic with Paul, everyone attacks main character. Verified it 2-3 times today. Additionally the mouse changes its state all by itself in between turns. No right clicking will take place, but one turn it'll be the default mouse and next turn it'll be the attack all / grenade / secondary cursor.

You probably have to be alone with the other guy for the "accident" to happen in private and without being aggressed by other party members, but other than that, yes, I agree - being able to friendly fire your own party by default leads to more missclicks and actual accidents than a flavor possibility.

There has to be a "friendly fire on/off" toggle button somewhere in those small control buttons in bottom left portion of the UI, just to toggle it on and off.
And when it's "off" you normally
- will never get an "attack" icon while righ-clicking your teammates while trading or bandaging
- will not be able to execute aimed attack on teammates with melee/ranged weapon
- won't be able to land a grenade which will hurt a member of your party

This is very simple to code, and would increase usability so much more.

P.S. That being said, Fallouts 1/2 never had the option and had friendly fire on, and it never was a problem... Until Marcus pulled out his minigun :)

Asuzu, the toggle is a good idea. I'll suggest it to the devs

NO they have not addressed this.
