It's a open world but not a free roam one, location are a premedite place that you need to found on the map by exploration.

Sort of - as Guillaume said, the map is open and you can discover and visit locations in any order. However, you have a base of operations, the Shelter, which you must keep stocked with food and supplies, and which you must return to every day.

Really? So you can never get more than a half day away?
Also then, what's the replayability? Didn't see anything about random maps or generation.

There are vehicles and horses in the game, allowing you to travel to farther locations faster than you would on foot. Replayability comes from playing with different skills and stats, making different decisions, going to different locations, and recruiting different allies. A lot can change based on when and how you do things.

Thanks. So, it is the same map every time?

Yeah - the "world" map is always the same area. As for locations on the map, I'm not entirely sure if those are all static or if there are some that will randomize their position.

The EA release they seem to be static, I have eplayed through the 7 days twice and the second time the enemies and zombies were all in same area.

Yeah, the areas available in the demo are all static. I can't say for sure about the final version, though.

Really? Too bad then. More static/predictable=less replayability. More randomization=more enjoyment for another playthrough. Even if you can change characters, you'd still know where all the good/bad spots are. REALLY wanted this one because of the tbs aspect---not if it's one and done though. Guess we'll see when we see.

I heard that it wont be static for final release and the areas will respawn too :)

This game is shaping up to be the beautiful love-child of XCOM and Fallout 2, with a dash of Evil Genius on top. I'm very excited. :)
