Anything better than Brush Hooks?
I'm not sure how far into the game I am, but I'm having a really hard time finding anything that's more useful than Brush Hooks for melee. I found an electric baton and I thought that would do it but even that does not feel as impressive as that menacing polearm. My main character is melee, he can swing them for 4 ap, they do terrible damage, can hit diagonally. Definitely the best weapon so far for hacking zombies, not sure about humans (I usually shoot them and have the melee dude stand at a door or something).

Other good weapons I found: Crash Axe, Kukri, Railroad Hammer, Aluminium bat.

Any suggestions?
Also, because it's my first playthrough, please don't tell me WHERE it is, just WHAT it is.

Crash Axes are amazing. I try to stay away from the heavier two-handed weapons whenever I can because they just cost so much AP. Any of the Baseball Bats are some of the best zed bashers around.

There are 13 unique melee weapons in the game, they are of course superior to their common versions, the electric baton is one of them. Otherwise I favor knockdown over slashing weapons, so polearms and hammers for my taste. Pitchfork is the best polearm, that railroad hammer is the heaviest damage non-unique, but it's STR requirement makes it hard to field. Only slashing weapon straight up better than the brush hook is the bastard sword, and it's rare. Always tailor the min STR and AP costs of a weapon to the wielder though.
Yeah I usually make it so that my guys can swing their weapon twice in one turn. An exception is Max who has ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 9 AP (He's the only combat character I run with sub 10 AP) who has the Railroad Hammer because he one-shots zeds with it even without a critical.
