Plans for a Dead State 2?

Or another turn based, post apoc type game?

I recently started playing through Dead State again having bought it I think in EA and playing then quite a bit. I'm having fun and like the new improved Reanimated game as a whole.

Makes me wonder why there hasn't been much else from DoubleBear, especially now when survival themes / base building have taken off and a lot of people like that genre, and the whole zombie theme isn't really dying off (see what I did there) either anytime soon.

The game has it's downsides, a few bugs but nothing crazy, more like things I wish it had (sadly no modding) like battles when your base is raided, options to be a 'worse' character without Davis killing you, maybe wheel him out into the zombies or get grant to kill him general QOL things etc.

Are there plans for something new, becuase there still aren't many other games like this.

There are no current plans for a sequel; the devs have already moved on to their next title. If DS becomes a cult hit sometime in the future and sells a ton of copies we might see a sequel.

Can I ask what the next title is? Is it even with DoubleBear because all I see is that high school game thing and that kind of game hasn't appealed to me in about 15 years, no offence :)

What they are currently working on is Panic in the Multiverse, a Jrpg style game.

Already out is a side project in the same world, Panic in Multiverse High, a dating sim game.

Thanks for the reply, I did find their site and saw about a mystery project. It’s a shame but I have no interest in that game. Back to waiting for either a decent survival game (can only play The long dark for so long) or another game like dead state. Once I finish my current play through anyway of DS. Thanks!

Technically speaking Dead State came first, then we were all so depressed from making it (seriously, grim games take an emotional toll!) we wanted to make something that was the polar opposite, and so we did, and that was PANIC (which is more a parody than anything else, if that counts - I wanted to make the otome game for those who hate otome games, and also maybe like them. And Getz is in it! Which is extra weird).

Thank you for replying, I did have a look at Iron Tower's website before, The sci-fi game 'The New World' does interest me the most, looks like I'll have to wait though :)

Iron Tower seem to be doing fine, Colony Ship is great (thank God they moved to Unreal engine away from the horrible Torque).

I do hope although, that not everyone uses Unreal Engine for everything. Epic do not need monopoly nor do I want everything to have that same feel.

Iron tower is awesome age of decadence is a classic every then and now i catch mysefl replaying it.
