Always low scores
It seems that no matter what I try, I alwasy get really low scores for my games, to the point that I always go bakrupt and have to start a new game without getting far at all. I make sure to have variety in my releases, I market the games to get hype, and I get rid of every bug, but no matter what, my games all average a score of 3-5. Any help?

did you ever made a custom engine, researched the newest things and do you pay attention not to have a low percentage on each section? Are you doing good combination with the topic, genre, platform and audience?
if a few things i mentioned you did wrong than you will get bad scores

regularly train your staff, even if its just u in the garage, higher ratings means better games.

you're competing with your previous high score only or 30 if you haven't finished it.

Also you can't train yourself in the garage.

I do make my own engine, when picking a topic/genre combo I make sure it it good or better, and make sure it matches the platform and audience.

Generate all of the game reports. +++ means max ++ means abou 80% ~ means about 50% -- means 35% and --- means 0% when designing a game, you also need to have the right tech to design ratios or you'll be getting consistent 7-8's instead of 9-10s
Hey Guys, If it helps our "Gameplay Moderator" from our official forums has written a "Game Dev Guidance" web doc. It offers a more naturalistic approach to how to play without the wiki and makes great reading when your travelling :)

For starters, at the beginning of the game, look at your 5 topics. Next, choose the one that you might be a able to do. Example: Space. Now, what would be things that relate to it, action? strategy? rpg? Choose something like action for a space game. Now, choose the system you want to develop on. Ok, when you start devlopment, what would fit and not fit? For a space/action game, you need great gameplay, and a great engine. Story is not important, so move your story bar down till its really close to the bottom. Keep going with what you think should be there, and wait for bugs to be removed and finishing touches to be added. Then release it. (Tip: after you get reviews, click on your character and click Generate game report.)
Then, make a custom game engine when you get a good amount of game engine things. Remeber to make a new one when you get more engine things. Keep making games. Also, if you need help, use the turtorial and tool tips.

P.S; don't do the same thing everytime, reviewers hate that.

I have the same problem except I've obviously made bank in the game and have tons of fans and have made tons of 10 and 9.75 games, except now it's literally impossible to make a game that doesn't get a GOD AWFUL score every single time. Perfect time ratios, all my devs are high level specialists and I am getting good management on every game, great topic/platform combos, hype, everything.

I lost 2 million fans and in the course of about 12 new games, one of them ended up being above a 5. Even combinations that got me a perfect 10 FAR in the past end up getting me a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ score. I need these last two achievements, and I'm about to just never play the game again and give up (100m sales and 11 out of 10 rating).

I think the scores are sometimes pretty random. In my first run (in which I went bankrupt) I did great with adventures and roleplaying games. In my second run, simulations and strategy games seem to be the thing. It took me hours, though, to get that 11 out of 10 rating, and I still don't know what triggered it. Fun face: I got the perfect score of 10 later on in the game. No idea how to reach 100 million sales.
