How do I get an R&D Department?

Because I honestly have no idea.
I'm sitting at $750 million in the bank and my guys cant add in all the game things i want without completing what theyre working on..l.

The biggest mistake i found i made was not doing any of that contract work after each game creation. I found it hard to get all those research points without it.

I'm currently sitting at 1.5 billion dollars with my own console, and am currently researching graphics v 7 in the r and d lab... and I still don't have enough research points to get what I want.

the r&d lab generate research points when not researching anything. Do the contract work after each game you make. you will have more than enough research points. The only flaw i see with this game is the game show counter is too time consuming. and I cant hire any more employees to help make the games entirely how i want.

To get a lot of research points, just keep re-doing your custom engine(s). My approach is:

1. Smash Hit
2. Research new technology
3. Incorporate it into a new custom engine
4. Do a Smash Hit again.
