If it were any slower it would be boring.

It needs to be fast. Ever play SimCity on slow? It's really boring. Turn it up to 11 and let the chips fall where they may.

I also think it's too fast. Especially for a first game when there's so much going on and the time passes so fast you don't have much room for errors.

maybe a game speed option eventualy?
~Draugkir~ Aug 29, 2013 @ 9:31pm
yup.. a game speed option would be pretty cool.
GameLord Aug 29, 2013 @ 10:11pm
I think the game speed is perfect. 35 yrs is ~5 hours of gameplay.

I personally don't have a problem with the game time. Considering the fact that you still have a lot of stuff to do after 35 years of in-game time, and can easily support another few hours of gameplay with custom consoles, MMO's, research and development and triple A games, it's fine for me. Plus, I think this game's best if you play multiple times, as the going changes each time.

I think slowing it down a notch.. will make it easier and more interesting.. just maybe slower 15%

They just need a pause button.
^ the 'esc' button is your pause button

You can actually play the main game for 42-years inseatd of 35-years for a more slower pace. You hace to slect that option when You start a new game and have to name your company/ player. As someone else mentioned there is alot more you can do after the intial gameplay, you can build your consoles, create & maintain an MMO-game or even try to sell a 100-million copies of game if you're going for that achievement. XD

Even the 42 year option is a little too fast for my liking. A slower pace would allow you to really get into the story of the game and think about your releases - build up a bit of a franchise around them in your head and imagine where you want to go next. That way when your baby that you've planned for so long and worked so hard on goes out to review and comes back with a 10 score rating, it'd offer a much larger sense of acchivement and victory. Or if it bombs, it'd motivate you more to look into it's faults and fix whatever you did wrong.

Right now the game runs so fast, even on the long game option, that it feels little more than an exercise in random innanity...slinging as much stuff at a wall as possible to see what sticks. And the games you release have little meaning to the player besides a catchy title.

Thanks for all your response. But i have to agree with Rhymane. The game is becoming more like spamming clicks because i dont want to waste any time and company resources with my staff doing nothing. Therefore quickly spamming clicks on training staff, making games and etc.

It's just too fast paced. I'm just talking abt 10~15% slower. Not 50%. This would help balance the game a little instead of a click and run game. Tycoon games should be enjoyed a little bit slower so that players have time to think and make decisions. But at year 20, i've already developed 40 games+? Too fast, i'm just clicking.. no longer thinking

Whats missing is staff adding research points while they are not developing a new game. Doesn't mean if they are not working on a new game that they aren't doing anything. having a few extra research points available would help with fast pace of the game.

Exactly this. I'm in the last office now, 4 employees, and after I developed a new game I tend to stretch a bit, lean back for a second. In those seconds the game has progressed a couple of weeks...
