I am a developer at Greenheart Games.
Could you provide some more information about your system specs please, distrobution and version, graphics card, ram, cpu, etc.
We would also ask that you check your graphics driver is fully up to date.
I would also advise that you check our FAQ, Specifically the Troubleshooting F.A.Q. near the bottom, to see if your particular issue is present. For instance if you are experiencing a white or black screen.
Thank you,
Chad
If I run the game without steam the graphics no longer freeze but it runs very slowly and the graphics glitch out every few seconds.
Specs:
ArchLinux 64 bit with 3.19 kernel
AMD FX-6300 2.5 GhZ
Nvidia GTX660 2GB using the official nvidia drivers ver. 346.47
8 GB DDR3 RAM
I feel like I might be missing a required library to run the game properly. Is there a list of dependencies for the game?
I tried using the 32 bit executable but the game crashes after the initial splash screen:
[7395:0304/120013:WARNING:crash_handler_host_linux.cc(317)] Could not translate tid - assuming crashing thread is thread group leader; syscall_supported=1
[7395:0304/120013:WARNING:dispatcher_host.cc(180)] Unknown object: 1 type:Window method:IsFullscreen arguments:[ ]
[7395:0304/120013:ERROR:breakpad_linux.cc(1249)] crash dump file written to /tmp/chromium-renderer-minidump-d666404229b38183.dmp
I also tried running the game on a bare X server without DE, no difference either.
Thank you taking the time to get back to us and sorry to hear about these troubles. As no one else has reported this issue it is likely that it is localised to your machine.
A couple of thing to try are:
Have you updated gtk2? Write "pacman -Syu" to update all packages.
And
This page may help:
http://www.linuxnewshere.com.au/index.php/linux/linux-mint-17-google-chrome-too-slow-my-fix
Most importantly have you tried reinstalling GDT and starting a new game? Be sure to have no mods activated.
Also this page is a very useful Linux resource which lists GDT:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Steam/Game-specific_troubleshooting
Lastly have you checked if you are able to view hidden files?
Run ls -la on /tmp , you will see a bunch of .org.chromium.Chromium.*** directories. One of these is your current working dir.
I hope some of these tips help get you pointed in the right direction.
Thanks to Steam user Hover for Linux advice.

Make sure you have all of them, it honestly sounds like a hardware acceleration issue. I can help you resolve it if this doesn't work.

I had chromium installed so all dependencies should have been there already. I tried all your sugestions without success.
For now I'm just going to stream the game from my laptop as that works perfectly. If I ever find out whats wrong I'll post the solution here. Maybe a future driver update fixes the problem by itself.
Thanks for your suggestions and time.
As far as I can tell, it only happens when at the debugging stage of game creation. It's not consistent as sometimes it works okay. The game keeps running, but the graphics stop updating. A mouse click brings the graphics back, but frequently it freezes again.
