Pirated Version

I need some help. I bought the game from steam and have been enjoying it until I get to around the release of Playsystem and Mbox. I get a message saying that people have been pirating my games and eventually I cant make money. I looked up that this happens to people who have pirated Game Dev Tycoon but I have bought it legally on steam and don't know what to do.

On the pirated version of the game you should get the message:
"Boss, it seems that while many players play our new game, they steal it by downloading a cracked version rather than buying it legally.
If players don’t buy the games they like, we will sooner or later go bankrupt."

Are you getting the above exact message?

It's been awhile since I've played Game Dev Tycoon but I remember there is pirating
of your games that still happens in the 'offical' non-pirate version.
But it won't be enough to drive you to bankrupsy usually.

I don't pirate games, and have never pirated Game Dev Tycoon; my version is legit.
And I get people pirating my games still, pretty sure it's an in-game mechanic,
so long as it's not that above message you're receiving, that's the pirated copy message.

There is a piracy event in the normal game too. As long as the option button doesn't have a ':-(' as the only response you are safe.

I also got the Piracy message though I bought it via Steam, but I also got an option to warn them or send them to the hooosgow.

I like that is in the game. It is funny to me some of these events happen and can be bad.

Apart from translations into other languages there are no DLC or other updates planned for Game Dev Tycoon.
