Strange Combos?

Hello, I'd just like a quick explanation on the concept since I never really used the trend - I usually don't go after combos that I know make no sense, and the trends pass by too quickly for me to ever really care about them. Never even seen a strange combo actually. I'm assuming it works by releasing a normally bad combo during the trend and then it gets a better score than usual - do I have it right?

It's hard to say what is a 'strange' combo and what is a 'bad' combo. Generally, combos that are one "+" and one "-" tend to be 'strange'. Maybe even combos that are two, "++" and one "-".
