Please, talk normally, this is not the place to post Youtube-like comments XD The developers just determined themselves what they would think would be good combinations. Some of us indeed probably wouldn't agree with some of those, but.... that's life. I hope a Game Dev Tycoon 2 will be made in the future to bring it more up-to-date with the current gaming-landscape.

the entire concept of "bad combinations" kinda works as a game mechanic but doesn't actually make any sense and I hope they scrap the idea entirely.

I hope they don't scrap the idea. Some combinations just wouldn't work, like maybe simulation + RPG or business and action or hospital and action.... Those combinations would be weird.

You should pick Sci-Fi instead of Space

Elite an RPG really? Its a Space trading and combat simulator. Maybe you could class it as an action or an action simulator hybrid.

Sim and RPG seems like a good combo to me.
