what?
Game Dev Tycoon is written in HTML5 (for historical and technical reasons) which is the same technology websites are built with. The game essentially runs in its own web browser (called node-webkit) as a local website. Node-webit uses different processes to handle different things so that's why there are 3 nw.exe processes running, though I am not sure why one is stuck in your case. They should all close.
Web browsers cannot capture the screen of your operating system like a DirectX based game could which means that we cannot override your local resolution. We can only show the game as borderless instead.
Regarding the white-screen and other issues, this sounds a lot like display driver or display utilities incompatibilities. You can try shutting down other apps and updating your drivers. Hope this helps.
none of my display utilities are an issue and are always updated fully, as well as my drivers (all of them including gpu are updated the instant a new driver comes out).
the only "display app" i ever have running is gpu tweak 2 and that is never going to be shut off for a game, i as well use the OSD in gpu tweak 2, to view fps and everything else i need to see to view performance of my games.
all issues i mentioned are game related, its not on my end... mouse drift, white screen, game crashing when switching fullscreen/windowed and leaving 1 exe running and has to be ended in task manager, as well graphical glitches with gpu tweak 2 OSD and not allow info capture from said OSD.
I am truly sorry for the trouble but those issues are outside of our influence.
If you do want to try to work around the problems, shutting down other apps has in the past helped. There were hundreds of people over the years with the 'white screen' issue and every single one were side effects due to antivirus, drivers or other utilities.
I know it's of little consolation but believe me that we hate to have our players inconvenienced by such issues which is (part of) why we don't use the same technology for our next game.
