Getting bad reviews no matter what.
Currently I'm at Y24 have about 482k fans full staff (Max skill 700+ except for 2 people and myself) R&D unlocked but nothing completed on a save slot. My previous game bombed. I've tried so many different combinations and max review I get is 7 but generally around 5.

I tried

-publishing contract
-making medium game
-making large game
-making a sequel to an successful game (this is where I got 7 but next game failed.)
-making a single genre game
-single platform game
-tried firing the two 500 skilled people

I followed all the charts on "ULTIMATE GUIDE FOR GAME DEV TYCOON" . I often get Good combo, Good Management, New topic. Still bad scores.

It could be lack of points for the design/technology. Or it can be that the engine is too old.

If you know about how the game works, then you should know that every other game should include 1 new feature.
It gets really picky about this in the late game. Your only bail out would be to try and make a sequel to one of your older games. Hoping that you design it well, you should get 7s n 8s. Enough to research and build a new engine.

This is one of the things that the game misses a lot of potential, the game in the background im sure it has a table where it decidces what points are more important depending on which genre of game you are making. But you can't explain your idea of the game with the few options you have.

i've had a number of 7/7/7/7 or 7/7/7/6, whatever. but then with the same engine i could do another new game and get 10/9/10/10 with it annoyingly close to a full 10 the next time around on the same engine.

when it came time to build larger games with the multi-platform support, pc/mbone/vps3, after that it's just nothing but pure cash yield so long as your hype is good and your product is just as good, you could be looking at 725k units sold in the first month alone and easily end up just short of selling 10m units on the final month of sales. the key is not to overdo it.

the first time on the game and i was making pretty poor design choices and ended up out of money, the second time i got better at it, hit and miss but made out with one product that sold so well and made it to number one. on the third attempt i made it all the way across to the largest office and biggest titles, but severely lacked in research points after the mid point of the game. i never managed to get the R&D facility. i'm thinking of firing a few people and getting those of the right skills on.

a number of sequels i produced on the third run about 90% have been successful and of those about 30% have been really successful. i come up with the crusader series, agent morrison series and starting out with the ABCD series. I started with Ravage entertainment using custom engines: Mortis Tech and i have gone with Marr Tech, Baras Tech and still on Thanaton Tech, the latter taking 3.5m per new engine in creation. Thinking of taking it up to Vitate Tech next :P.
