Value of different gem types

Probably only the dev knows the answer to this unless someone has done some decompilation, but does anyone know the value of the gems created by the third characters gem ray compared to other types of gem blocks?

Mainly asking because I'd like to know if it's more profitable to convert, for example, green gem blocks to the gem ray versions or mine them as-is.

There's obviously a LOT going on at the screen at all times, however the numbers that pop up when you collect a gem are value numbers (not damage numbers, a source of frequent confusion!). So if you pay attention you can get an idea.

Actually I had question about this too. So for the gems - or things that I'm calling gems because they look like gems - are certain colors (like gold) giving you more or 100% value towards your meta upgrades vs. other colors where their value contributes 100% to in-game (for the round) upgrades only (i.e. - like silver)? Sorry if I'm not explaining it properly.

They all behave identically! They only differ in terms of Techsmith upgrade value. Each gem is worth 1 unit of xp towards a Temporary Bolt-on Upgrade.

Gemforge Ray's ability that makes gems with exploding gem bolt on *chefs kiss* I feel like I get upgrades every few seconds. Only down side is when you hit a chest or fuel. But it gets to a point where that doesn't even matter. Just go fast.
