A potentially excellent game ruined by slippery movement. The whole mission 1 felt like I was on ice. Even jumping in the air feels like slipping on ice.

This one actually feels good to control and is properly priced.
If you're feeling competitive and if it looks like it could be your thing, then go ahead and give it a try.

I thought the pixelated graphics were lackluster, however the chiptune soundtrack was great and catchy!

At the end of the day, that's just not something I want to play, and I don't find my fun there. I would recommend it, but it's very niche, and people should be aware of what they are getting into.

Cannot start it anymore

Some interesting ideas but I think the sequel is a better iteration

It's a decently put together game with thumbstick shooting, triple jumps, and bullet time, solid soundtrack...

But it's just too puzzle-y. There's a bit too much trial and error to solve a boss or a room and I really dislike that kind of gameplay. Success completely revolves around using bullet time to slow down a bosses movement so you can dodge...but you don't know what the tells are until you're already hit and there's zero chance of dodging certain moves without using it. Or you've used your bullet time to dodge one thing but now it's not available and there goes half your life. I cleared 3 stages and don't feel like I'm missing out at all.

Sure there is the whole 'git gud', which I have no issue with...but this game isn't worth that kind of time investment and forcing you to use bullet time in order to dodge enemy movement is just too repetitive.

I did not like this game. But I can't remember why.

Can't seem to make it work

Quick Description:
-Bleed is a colorful 2D arcade style run n' gun where you are the hero trying to blast your way through stages. Unfortunately, Bleed is plagued w/ frustrating level design and clunky controls, all culminating in a very short and unsatisfying playing experience.

What's Good:
-A good amount of unlockable weapons allows for several different playstyles.
-The letter grades upon completion give incentive to play each level several times in hopes of mastering each level.
-Bright colors and a solid soundtrack make the visual and auditory parts of this game pop.
-Lots of unique bosses are a main highlight of the experience and are extremely important in action platformers.
-$5 is dirt cheap.

Could Use a Few Changes:
-I found the dash mechanic very frustrating. You get 4 dashes before needing to wait for the cool down. This seems like plenty, but the levels were designed w/ this in mind and I frequently would hit the edge of a ledge and would need to jump one time upon hitting it. The level w/ the rotating building and never ending free falling balls kept knocking me back to the ground and it felt very tedious.
-Extremely short. Most players will beat the game within 1-2 hrs. I would have loved at least another 1-2 hrs of playtime.
-If you don't enjoy replaying levels, you are left with very little content.
-A lot of chase scenes involving the use of the dash which as I mentioned above never felt very consistent.

Consensus:
-Bottom Shelf Game (Tier 5 and makes up 10% of my reviews). I wanted to like this one, but I just never got into a rhythm during my short experience w/ Bleed. If you are looking for great action platformers, games like Valfaris, Blazing Chrome, Katana Zero, Hotline Miami, etc are all much better games imo. Being that it's only $5, if you are into the aesthetic, I can't fault you for giving it a try.

This game controls terribly. It is a twin stick platformer, which means you can only accurately control one or the other. I use a Steam controller and it was generally unplayable (the right stick is used for shooting and does not seem to accurately work on a Steam controller's touchpad stick). The mouse and keyboard setup fixes the shooting but makes the platforming too difficult.

The game just does not control well enough for me to recommend it.
