The squeal is everything the first game, but better. The movement feels so fluid and the camera controls great too. Some enemies feel a little spongy, but that might be because of the highest difficulty. Otherwise very much worth a pickup for anyone looking for a new 3D platformer.

When I saw the screenshots, I thought it will be the same game as the first with a different weapon and different smurfs to used. I was wrong for the most part.

The Smurfs 2 feels like the first game in Visual with some upgrades on textures and Story. but added a couple of things that makes it different, first Movement, in the original, you can only "run" and jump at the start, the rest of the movement was unlocked later on. ( Dash,glide and stomp).

Now you can do all from the start, except glide, also added a sprint state where they move faster than the original, this make the game have a faster filling, BUT, it can affect during platforming, but not much.
Lastly each smurf have a unique skill to make them different to play.

For the weapon, the Smurfomix is different to the Smurfizer where the mix is a ranged weapon with different powerups that you get in the levels, that gives different attacks and effects, this make combat faster and no need to get in melee range all the time, unless you want.

The music in Smurfs 2 went a different way comparing to the orginal, going to more of a adventure vibe instead of ambient, due to the action segments, and it is a more memorable soundtrack.

Level Length is strange, this game felt shorter compare to the original but some levels feel longer and their design was more linear with the chance of hide secrets or crystal to clear(background ones count too)

In my opinion, Smurfs 2 is a better game than the original but it felt shorter comparing to the first game but it also improve from it. Play it if you played the original.

Smurftastic

While it would benefit from less third-person shooting, Prisoner of the Green Stone is an entertaining romp that should please anyone who enjoyed the first game. Controls all feel very precise, and the art direction is solid. However, this game seems uncomfortably limited by the Switch hardware and some of the geometry is downright ugly. Mostly background objects, the Smurfs all look great, but Gargamel is iffy as well. It's distracting to see clear cut polygon edges in this day and age. There also seems to be a bug, when I started the game it claimed to be running at 4k but very obviously was not. Switching to another resolution and then back fixed the issue.

I do appreciate that someone bothered to include graphics settings, there's no specific options except ambient occlusion and v-sync on/off, but five different presets are on offer. Shadow resolution jumps significantly on ultra, and I enjoyed being given the chance to actually use my beefy GPU. Correctly implemented unlocked framerate support was a pleasant surprise, the game has no issue being run at 240fps or higher.

So far I'm enjoying it. OSome put a ton of love into Mission Vileaf, and that same care is definitely on display here. In some ways, I almost feel like Green Stone attempts too many new features for it's own good, but I have to respect a developer going out of their way to do more than the bare minimum. It's a 7/10 game but surely worth $25.

smurfs 1 was better. i'd only recommend this to hard core smurfs fans, the art looks nice though

A repetitive, but Smurftastically colorful and fun adventure with annoying sound effects

I loved the first game, the sequel is more shooting-focused. In general it feels like there is a little bit less variation compared to the first one but it was fun regardless.
