how to grapple/throw someone with no weapon?

does anyone know how to actually throw someone, WITHOUT a weapon? or is it impossible? sometimes i lose my weapon from taking to much damage and all i have are my fists, but I cant figure out how to throw someone to the ground without grabbing my sword again and half-swording around their head.
and also yes i could pull out my secondary weapon but grappling is a lot more fun

I did a run recently where i had got to the first boss and promptly lost my weapon. I managed to literally head lock him after being lucky enough to throw him to the ground and then i grabbed one of his secondary sickles from his belt and slashed his throat.

ive manged to grab someone when he knocked my weapon out my hand, killed him with my bare hands.
