Half Sword

Half Sword

To the Devs: ideas for 'Free Roam' PVE customization
First of all, I've been absolutely LOVING this game! It's up there with GTA IV and Noita, just for the level of pure fun and complete 'free-will' over all the goofy things you can do. It's magnificent!
--------------------------------------------

Now, for my ideas:

Think of it similarly to games like "Don't Starve", "Killing Floor 1", and "Worms 4: Mayhem":
Before the match begins, you can tweak very specific settings/mutators to cater your match to be EXACTLY how you want it. Not just simple basic things, but as I said, very specific.

In our case: we could have several tick boxes, text/number inputs, and sliders to choose how much of 'X' we want.

- Want to fight against 3, 5, 20, or more enemies?
- Want them all to be unarmored peasants with knives?
- Want to scale the probability spectrum of what armor/weapons they might use, so a few will be harder?
- Or, maybe you even want to customize each enemy one-by-one, so that they each have 'X' specific armor piece on 'X' specific part of their body. Same going for weapons. This way, weapons and armor are not locked to different enemy tiers.
- Want 'X' level/type of damage applied to an enemy, so they begin with broken arms, a dismembered foot, etc?
- Want to scale the speed of their movement? Everything, or just arms, legs, etc?

Of course, all of this wouldn't just be for enemies, but the player as well.
- Want to test your skills with two broken arms as you fight 5 unarmored peasants with greatswords? Go ahead!
- Or, maybe you want to be like 'Guts' from Berserk, as you mow-down 100 lightly armored soldiers whilst you are fully armored and carry a greatsword.

Just a variety of settings like that, so you have endless options of everything you can do.
I'd say this would add a lot to Half Sword's already high level of replayability. You can play seriously in the existing modes, or goof around with endless options in free mode. Just a variety of options for all types of players.

No idea if this has already been suggested or planned, as I just wrote this down right after playing.

Just adding more ideas:

- A setting allowing you to disable when and/or if the enemy ai will give up. The only way out is death!

- When an enemy (or you) has their hand/foot dismembered, or gets broken bones - make it optional to disable this from causing us to panic and no longer swing any weapons at all.
Combined with the above idea - you and the enemy will be pushed to the absolute limit to kill each other, leaving only vital areas and killing blows as the true end to any fight.
