Demo complains about lack of video memory

i just downloaded the demo and when i went to crank up the graphics it complained to me about my video memory. and now every time i boot it CTD's.

my brother in Christ i promise you i have more then enough.
OS: win 10
GPU: 4080S
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
RAM: 64GB
game is installed on a M.2 SSD

Sounds like you need to reinstall the demo and hold off on cranking the textures until you get a 20+GB VRAM GPU.

i did reinstall the demo but i guess it saved my settings or something because i still get the same message

edit: also i was able to play the playtest in VR with maxed out graphics the other day just fine

Stole from Blackviking_ on reddit:
Open your steam library and right click half sword playtest and click properties. There in the General tab you will see a box for Launch Options. in that box you gotta type "-dx11" and it will work. when the game starts you can go in the settings and change them back.
