the demo and the playtest
let me preface this with some context: my favorite weapon is the hoe.

that wasn't meant to help clarify anything, i just wanted to shoutout the hoe.

anyways, the only good things about the playtest that i have seen so far are:

1. the modes/classes?
&
2. the fist combat

the modes/classes?:
i have only played the first two modes (fist play and carnage), but that shouldn't matter, because this feature (the mode feature) was entirely absent from the demo, the inclusion of modes/classes, that you can select, seems... good.
the fist combat:
its almost like an apples and oranges type of thing. i like the melee combat in the playtest, but i don't like the weapon combat. i like the weapon combat in the demo, but... i don't like the- wait, is there even fist combat in the demo? "fist combat in the demo doesn't let you control your punches, right? anyways whatever. i'd still choose the demo nine times out of ten. in the playtest you are restricted by the tighter circle and if you don't pull your punches you will run out of stamina quick. that's cool, i like that, i like those things, but lots of other things are better in the demo. both are buggy and the game is "slow". you have to go at the games pace, not your own, or it will break (the games pace being the current implementation of physics and messy ui).

3/5 for the demo in it's current state and 2/5 for the playtest in it's current state.

In my opinion the playtest is better, quicker battles and you can choose your weapons kind of. The demo has slightly better gore. You obviously can control your punches. The weapon combat is peak though, I love trying to go in with a sword and parry their attacks and rebound off that while their guards are open. Realistically the playtest makes more sense as you have limited space like in reality stamina too, you will get tired in real life if you spam punches or swings everywhere. What makes Half Sword Playtest good is the realism, it is physics based and more realistic aspects added to that.

Once again this is my opinion
5/5 Playtest, 2/5 Demo.
