Well... For me they were not hard. My strategy was as soon as I see spear guy I rush him and slash'n'wiggle, slash'n'wiggle

Use a two handed weapon like an axe, hold it with left click and swipe it upwards to the side.

You are surprised spears are good in a game with authentic medieval weapons? You are playing the wrong game my friend lol. Everyone by this point knows spears are formidable. Its a skill issue at this point because while I sometimes die if I am outmatched, I developed methods to deal with them just fine. Of anything they need a buff as far as thrusting mechanics because they are awkward to use from the players perspective.

a decent counter for this and virtually any other bladed weapon / mace is to just bash that **** away from you, attacking the weapon rather than the person in order to deflect it away

I'll definitely agree spears are really unfun to fight against at the moment, but using a shield with a one handed weapon usually works against them, just hold the shield out and rush the spear guy while trying to push his weapon out of the way.

just use a weapon with 2 hands and slide the weapon in question towards the neck of your opponent, easy enough

The spear isnt OP, if you have a axe or sword you can either hit the spear with your weapon as your approaching to move it away. Once you do that while going towards him if you time it right you will be in clinch range of the character which the spear is only a range weapon and once your that close he cant get the spear tip to land on you. And if the spear gets caught in your throat it should instant kill.

If you use the Discord the Dev CONFIRMED Spears are OP and will be fixed. They even say to just avoid them for the time being as a strategy lol So please stop defending spears ffs

right click to double hand a weapon and use that to deflect the spear away
