Anyone else having trouble with spear AIs?

I keep dying to only one enemy in the game so far and it is the spear NPCs, they always point the tip directly at your head which makes charging close extremely risky (As intended)
but the problem is that moving it out of the way with weapons only makes it come back towards you and the moment the tip touches your neck without any sort of impact kills you instantly, i personally think they need tweaking, they are just as op in the hands of a player which makes the game difficulty drop significantly.

What do you guys think, anyone else having problems with these guys?

Yeah, these are the hardest enemies. Unsure how to really counter them, they always just have a spear pointed at your neck. If you can get the spear out of the way they're easy pickings, but if you miss you're dead almost instantly.

Use a weapon or Shield to block/parry as you move forward.

I use the half sword to knock it up and then stab them in the neck, works with most 2 hand sharp wepons. keep a knife on your Q slot so you can cut them up if you get tangled up tight. works well give it a try.

I like to rush in dagger in right hand and a longer sharp axe to flail them back and gamble a few slashes, then ill use the dagger when im in close and hope it disembowels them or im already dead with a spear thru my jaw XD

They are really difficult. Sometimes they glue their weopon to the middle of your body even if you try to move their tip away. I bet they are the ones who kills players most.

honestly, just close the gap, always enter combat running, ive died to a spear once, and that was because he entered just after i had finished another npc, and was kinda stuck in his body.

my most reliable technique against them so far is the whirlwind, spin mouse in circles as fast as you can and charge (preferably with a light weapon in each hand) they loose their aim.

Best course of action is to have a shield, you can pretty easily push the spear aside as you advance closer, spears become much less of a threat when you advance past the tip

flailing yr arms beats any polearm cus you knock it out the way. spear guys are no longer a threat

Flailing works 80-90% of the time, but there's still a decent chance of failure over a run. I once died to flailing a spear that would have otherwise missed directly into my neck. Died instantly.

Use barrel lid. Half-sword to deflect if you have a polearm.

I just run away and let them despawn if i dont have a decent weapon lol
