I've only had about 40 minutes of play time so far, but the kb/mouse controls are pretty bad. Otherwise, it's about what I expected from playing the demo on PS5 awhile back.
If you want to play the game, I would recommend you buying it when there is discount.
- UI and control is bad, especially if you are playing with mouse and keyboard. There is no key bind, can't open (or no info on how to open) the option. And in option, you can only control the volume.
- Character development was non-existent. The relationship between the character was pre-existing (I found out that this is because this game is a continuation of a mobile app game), and there is minimum explanation and presentation about the character relationship. I felt there was no major reason for the player character to be there in the game, and the other characters existed only for the game system.
- No auto-save, and in addition to that, the timing when you can save is limited. When you start are chapter, you are always forced to do some other things, and you can't save the game for a while.
- There is opening and ending movie in each chapter which you can't skip, and some movie parts which you can't skip which is annoying especially when you would be redoing some parts of the chapter
- The game has only approx. 10 h of content and it does not worth the price
- Solving the case was not too difficult, but there is too many forced option while doing the analysis of things, and it felt like I was playing tutorial throughout the game
- The ending felt like deus ex machina
- THE PLOT IS NOT COMPLETE!!! With this high price, it only has 10h of content, there are lots of foreshadowing which is not collected and in the last, it says to be continued... Only 10 h of content and the story's not even complete.
In addition to that, I think the main issue in the plot (detective being caught due to false accusation) is not solved fundamentally.
Overall, the new methods like video and voice analysis to solve the case was interesting and it was fun to do, but its only used a few times in the game. Other than that, it only feels like you are just reading though the documents to solve the case.
It would be a slight spoiler, but the last case is really bad in term of the quality of the mystery. It was impossible to solve the mystery because there were no hint provided, and I had to to trial and error to complete it. Even after getting the right answer, I felt that there was no rational reasoning behind the answer. And because this was the final chapter, it made the whole impression of the game terrible.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell, they're dropping the ball even with visual novels right now apparently. :/
Some negatives were from launch bugs and the review never got updated.
Seeing a pile of negatives in it's original language doesn't make me confident of the English release, especially for that price.
