and the best of all time to me is Kiritsugu Emiya

In fact, I loved Fate/Zero very much
In fact, after I completed Zero, I felt very empty and sad
To the point where I couldn't watch Stay Night because I wanted Kiritsugu
I cannot imagine that Stay Night will be the hero of Shiro

I said I might change my mind after a while, but I couldn't
I even watch the ending song every once in a while because I loved Zero so much
I also decided that I could play the game first and that would make me watch Stay Night

But no
I bought it two months ago and until now I haven't been able to even open it because I still feel empty after Zero

Anyway
The important thing is Kiritsugu Emiya is the best

If you liked Saber in Zero, you'll probably like her more in stay night. The first route is her route anyway. Shirou carries on Kiristugu's wish anyway, in a strange and ultimately twisted but interesting way with how twisted it is only coming to light in the second route.

I'm totally with you, Zero is my favourite too. While I don't love it quite as much, Stay night is still really good, and has all the pay offs for Zero's loose ends, and they're pretty satisfying. The visual novel especially has some really heartbreaking Kiritsugu nostalgia moments that I'm sure you'll love. He is honoured appropriately in this game.

Kiritsugu is dead I'm afraid. He had demons, and he paid a price for that, for all the good he tried to do.

His efforts, philosophy, and ideals do bear fruit in Stay Night though.

Also, you might be interested to know that Waver Velvet gets a really good cameo at the end of the UBW anime. So you might want to check that out too.
