(Release) Altria to Artoria/Arturia text replacement mod

Fate Stay Night REMASTERED Artoria/Arturia mod

This mod replaces the name "Altria" with "Artoria" or "Arturia" in the scripts.
Nothing more, nothing less.

DISCLAIMER

This mod is untested and unsupported. (I haven't progressed my own save to a point where you can see the name in-game yet...)

Use it at your own risk. It might break at any time.

This mod is probably not compatible with any other (future) mods that modify the game's script.

How to install

• Extract the zip file into the directory "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\typemoon\fsn2\data".
  
• The "data" directory should contain the "root" folder from the zip.
  
• Mod should be working automatically when you start the game.

Note: On Steam Deck (or other Linux) the path to extract to would usually be "/home/<username>/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/2396980/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/typemoon/fsn2/data/"

How to remove

• Remove the "root" folder from "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\typemoon\fsn2\data".

Issues

Let me know below if there are any issues or problems, no guarantees for fixes though.

I have only tested if the game loads with the mod installed, I don't know for sure if it works correctly everywhere in the game. (I haven't progressed my own save to a point where you can see the name in-game yet...)

Dude the name is used on official Japanese products, it's the correct English name. People getting so anal over this when it's the Japanese themselves telling you what the English name is. People blaming the localisers when it has nothing to do with them

Altria is actually the original name, as any Japanese speaker knows, there are no L's in Japanese, it's pronounced A-RU-TO-RI-A (アルトリア) in Japanese phonology which also means it's Arutoria in romanji, not Artoria which isn't Japanese phonology, which makes this mod even more hilarious

Neither Altria or Artoria is Japanese phonology, both are neither pure Japanese, so you've replaced one english spelling with another, well done

I don't know how the japanese pronouncing the name matters here, personally. I always thought Artoria was a feminized version of a name Arthur. And it sounds better than Altria, anyways. What is Altria even supposed to mean? Alternative? It kind of sucks as a name.

You cant make people use it. Many Fans have become used to Arturia/Artoria. It also just sounds better and makes more sense when your Gender Bending Arthur/Artorias. All you do when you Fight with people about it is make them dig their heels in deeper.

So? Use whatever you think makes more sense? Sounds to me like the usual stuff that happens in translations (similar to aluminium vs aluminum (translation mistake carried over in north american english)).

I'll stick with Artoria because it makes more sense coming from King Arthur/Artorius and at least sounds similar.

Is it really? Seems more to me like a thread for people to ask and see if the mod works and if there's any technical problem with it, that's it. Not to drown anything and everything on what name is better or correct. Go look any other thread here and see how people are watering down any and all discussions into the same regurgitated topic.

Yes, but this Topic IS about it, thus could be a place for people to Discuss it. Your screaming to people to stop doing so, in a Topic about it.

Funny thing is I even said how all this does is cause Brand Confusion and Fighting, yet Defenders wanted to say that wasnt the case. Blame those in charge for pushing Altria on the West instead of just going with the name most people know.

This will settle down in a few weeks, or months at most. You will still get some Confused Fans every now and again, especially during Sales, but once the Hype has died down so will the Fighting about it.
