So who is this release for?

Everyone who's ever really cared about Fate has played the fan-translation, and this one is going to once again carry the odd localization changes Nasu pushed for in FGO, like Saber's name being changed. There's also the issue of not having 18+ content the fan translation offers. You can make the argument people are "filthy pirates" for using a fan translation, but people have always been able to buy the game elsewhere to make up for that.

Became a fan of Type-Moon in 2009 when I read the fanTLs of Tsukihime and FSN. I am so happy these VNs are becoming available officially as I plan to buy this the moment it goes up for sale here. Last time I read FSN was a few years back where I was able to see the Realta Nua alternate scenes via the Ultimate Edition patch. After reading that, I am more than fine with the exclusion of the 18+ scenes, but more so mixed on certain other story changes that also occurred. Regardless, I am very optimistic about this release and look forward to ready this again along with Hollow Ataraxia in the future.

The 18+ content is both godawful and in most cases feels shoehorned in and kills the pacing. The scenes that replace them in every release after the first are almost uniformly better.

Also, the Mirror Moon translation is fine, but it's a bit rough, and can be a bit of work to set up, whereas this will work right out of the box, which makes it infinitely more accessible than it was. Which is a damn good thing because the anime adaptations are a terrible place to start because they all expect you to be familiar with the VN already.

As someone who's read the Mirror Moon version a few times now, I'm actually pretty excited to see an alternate translation, especially if it's the same team that did Blue Glass Moon. Which isn't to say that Tsukihimates did a poor job (they didn't) but that I'm a sicko who wants to see the differences in localization and character 'voices' if there are any, because in a lot of places I prefer the official localization.

There is no patch because this release is based on fate stay realta nua, there was never any H scenes in that version to begin with

The original 2004 H scene PC release was not voiced.

The voiced realta nua version (i.e. this verison) has a lot of seiyuu's in it that don't do eroge work, so there was never any chance they would voice the H scenes to begin with, hence why they were removed, even more so after the series went mainstream with the 2006 anime, that they obviously voiced before the VN re-release

Ayako Kawasumi, Kana Ueda and Noriko Shi-taya aren't eroge actors.

Mai Kadowaki (aka Anzu Mitsu) has done ero games, but Illya didn't have any scenes so that's kinda a moot issue

There's no patch because the game hasn't been released yet.

When realta nua was launched it had no h scenes and there were fan patches to add h scenes to it so what's that "it's based on realta nua"???

I’m talking about official off site patches which is common practice for selling eroge’s on steam so they don’t get banned

The h scenes in fate are not good, they are very much tacked on and feel out of place, the mosaic was heavy also which didn’t help. Although they were ‘decensored’ by artists in the fan built ultimate edition, they still aren’t good

The scenes also were never voiced so they feel very jarring in a ‘fully voiced’ VN

Type moon has long disassociated themselves with the original eroge version. They haven’t reprinted that version since 2006 with the dvd edition

Modders could tack them back on but honestly you’re not really missing anything, you’d be better off busting a nut to some rule34 fan art

The only thing I’ll miss about the H scenes is the pursuing minds theme, it’s really relaxing. The visual novel as a whole is filled with amazing music from start to finish

Removing the H-scenes is a feature not a problem. Absolutely awful writing and flow.
