Why do people like Emiya Shirou?

I never understood that.
Trying to become a hero of justice is such a childish dream and hes 17 years old. Like come on nobody thinks that way at that age.
And why does he get so awkward all the time around girls, like when he saw arthur taking a bath or sakura passing out and moaning.
I never found him to be a relatable character, thats why im always down rooting for Kirei and King of Heroes.
Hell i even like Shinji more because he has actual goals

edit-before someone tries to sound smart,i read the novel 2 years ago and still like Fate/Zero a lot more

Loved every part of it despite being a bit confusing at start. That part made me root from Kariya to Kiritsugu and finally to Kirei. It was amazing,top 3 animes of all time for me.

I only placed that +18 dlc as fav game for the memes because azuki scene was best ♥♥♥♥ i ever saw...

I just know all fate dorks lose their ♥♥♥♥ when i say something like "stay night is eh" or "emiya isnt my favorite" or "saber is overrated"
They all goo nooooo you cant talk till you read 500 hour long novel to understand the characters reeeeee stay night is only good fate part,rest is bad bad bad

personally didn't like fate zero, characters were crap compared to the original

Not like like but idolize,trying to be them or relating to them.
Zero characters were fire for me with how each was mature,had their own goal and actually fought to kill. Even waver grew on me and usually i hate his type.
While stay night was mostly shirou pls we are enemies

Other Fate i really enjoyed was Samurai remnant

Techncially Fate is more of a seinen than a shounen, the visual novel at least. If anything, UBW completely deconstructs the whole point of a battle shonen regarding the main character.
