Secret weapon katana is a bad design.
Why put it in the middle of an auto-saved game?? When the story enters a new chapter and the pace is just right, you find that you have missed a powerful unique weapon forever? I mean, what is the purpose of the developers making this design? Torturing players who want to collect all? Or do they want to see how many players can think of visiting a "secret vortex" that they have already visited once when being expelled from the flagship without any prompts? Or do they expect players to start a new game + for this? By the way, this game doesn't even have a new game + system. The new game + system in the previous game is also a mess.
Everyone can come up with such a mediocre and disappointing design. You can also design a weapon that can only be obtained by failing the tutorial 5 times in the vortex in the last map. Or another one hidden on the island where the captain meets his mother. The hat system in the game shows that you want to satisfy players who like to collect, but this katana makes it seem like you are just attracting them first and then hurting them. How sick!

I have to agree. I started and completed an entirely new playthrough just for it, lol. I'm probably the only one who plays this game insane enough to do that and still enjoy every second of it, but I can still recognize bad design.

If anything, I think it would be pretty cool if it was a mandatory pickup during the escape sequence.

I spent some time to figure out how to edit the save file of this game without damaging the file. However, I still couldn't fully understand the save mechanism of the game. In the end, I could only replace smg_02_rare with katana_rare because their names were the same length (adding equipment or changing equipment quality, etc., which would change the file length, failed. There are clues but I'm too lazy to figure it out). The content of this game itself is not worth my time. I just want to show that players can always achieve their own goals without being restricted by this ridiculous game design.
