Brawler and sniper are lackluster
Unless we are talking endgame builds, both of those classes just felt so much weaker than others.

Especially sniper. Having to reload each turn just to do not that much more damage than others... the class wants you to sit tight on one spot, but the whole game is about being active and movement (with the exception of few missions, but those are rare).

Brawler on the other hand felt useless, since there are a lot of floating enemies around, where your brawler just does nothing. Even with 3 sidearms, I would have them just sitting around when trying to destroy the big orbs or even some smaller stuff. The class should have gotten some kind of boomerang weapon throw.

The other classes just dominate them on all fronts imo. They have either huge mobility, great damage or both. Yeah they might not be as tanky, but who cares when everything dies before it gets the chance to hit you?

A lot of the downsides can get solved in endgame by utilizing other jobs, but that is imo not good excuse for the classes sucking for more than half the game.

I get by just fine with the reaper. But maybe the difficulty level also matters.

Depends on how you mean it. I am always talking about the highest difficulty with maxed out potential. And if some classes are "lackluster" because they are overpowered like heck, that sure can be.
And as I mentioned in my post, highest level doesnt matter and it shouldnt for most people. When you are reaching highest level, you have about 70% of the game behind you, maybe more. The game shouldnt feel so mismatched for so long.

Like yeah, my endgame brawler mixed with reaper and other classes was just running around, double attacking in melee, then running to another dude and chaing killing most of the room.

Sidearms are nice, but you use them pretty quickly. But my main issue is sniper really, brawler mainly irked me because of flying or unreachable enemies.

I know in Dota there are characters who need farming and those who are strong at the beginning but weak at the end of the game. It's the same situation here. Some are good before the Arctic, and some after

Wait until you see the later sniper weapons. Sniper is at least equally strong as any other class when played right. Some players just do not see the benefits which make them ridiculous strong in the most difficult situations.

Yeah mobility is still key like in the first game, if I were to exaggerate I'd say the game feels like it's a run and gun one so yes, sniper class seems clunky at times and wihle I found many class changes were smart, the reload feature increased the clunkiness.
I had tons of fun with the brawler class but I indeed gave up on it when floating enemies started to be numerous, but part of me still wants to believe that there is a way to make it work even past mid-game or so.

Free sidearms uses + cooldown reduction on Trusty Sidearm.

They are good halfway past midgame.
Frankly my recommendation is to get sniper and brawler companions in later inns, so they are already lvl 4 or 5.

I beat the game on hardest difficulty without much trouble, but my weak links were always either brawler or snipers. Others just did what they did, but better.
