What is the best way to spend skill points when you are just starting?

If my goal right now is just to have casual fun while I learn the game and not trying to maximize potential progress speed, what is the best strategy for spending skill points?

Also, is there a way to create a custom character right away? Or is that something I have to unlock later?

you can make your own skater right from the start, and you can freely change stat points you unlock at any time.

*you cant edit or change the stats that are default just the ones you find while playing

I prioritize air/hangtime/ollie and throw two into speed to get all of the objectives. You can make CAS at start.
